Yes, I know, another post on those silly vampire CDs. But they're really really good!
This time I listened to Subaru's CD, which was about twenty minutes longer than Ayato's. You would've thought that they would all last for the same amount of time. Like the other one, I sat down and listened to it without any translations, then I read that afterwards to see how much I understood. I thought that Subaru would be nicer than the rest of them, but I was wrong. He's just as bad as the others, if not worse at times. But of course, I still enjoyed it.
This CD was probably better than the first volume because it had more of the bloodsucking, which I quite enjoy even though it can sound a bit weird at times. It's more "romantic" than the other one too. At first Subaru starts off really violent but then he calms down slightly. He's quite mean to you, but that's what Diabolik Lovers is all about, hot vampires treating you like dirt.
I think I might've understood a bit more than I did in the last one. Reading the translation, I found a small cluster of quick sentences that I almost entirely understood whilst listening. It was about kissing and being cute and acting like a child, I can't remember exactly. After writing this, I'm gonna look up a few of the words that I read often in the translation but didn't hear in the Japanese audio. I'm learning more phrases from this than I am from Genki, because the stuff in that book goes through my head as soon as I read it.
The best parts of all of these CDs is about twenty minutes before the end, where the microphone changes and it sounds like the chosen vampire is actually next to you, more than it does usually. My online translation calls it the "super dummy mic". Earlier I relistened to this part from Ayato's CD in public, and it felt really loud and I was scared somebody would hear it but it was just the power of the special microphone. I dunno why they don't just use these for the entire thing, it would make it a lot more immersive.
Other than the "super dummy mic" part, the best bit in Subaru's CD was when him and the listener fell into the bath, probably because I could understand more of it because of the water sound effects. I like romantic scenes in water. There weren't any actual sex scenes in this, just biting. Since this was the first series of drama CDs, they probably didn't want to risk it too much.
So, yes, I really like this CD. I just really like Diabolik Lovers, even though it is stupid at times and none of the relationships in it are healthy. It's funny, I don't like vampire stuff like Twilight, but I really like this when it's probably got worse stuff in it. You know what's also funny? I'm pretty sure that tomorrow's supposed to be Ayato's official birthday. If only I had waited one more day to listen to his CD...
I know I'm still covering Collar X Malice on my blog, but I'm gonna wait until I've finished Okazaki's route before I post any more. I do have a lot to write about though! Anyways, that's all I have to say for today. See you all later.
