Good morning, blog readers!
All of the adverts on this website are now gone! I very much wanted to make money from my blogging career, but this place isn't successful enough for that. Google only pays me if I earn over a certain amount, which sucks. I didn't even make a single dollar.
The adverts made the layout look awful. It ruined the feel of the place. That's why I don't like Wordpress. If you don't pay for your domain they just plaster "suggested posts" all over your site. Not even an ad blocker can remove those.
I also made the decision to erase my (formerly) main site, Misty's World. Don't worry, I saved a copy of everything in case I change my mind! It had been online for almost five years. How time flies. The reason why I decided to delete it was because I didn't feel connected to it anymore. That's sounds very dumb, but it's true. Visiting that site made me feel nostalgic, but in a bad way. Yes, I know the site's not that old! But my life has changed a lot these past few years, and that place represented a part of me that is no longer here. So it's all gone now! If you really want to visit it again, you can just use the WayBack Machine. There's no guarantee that all of the pages will be there, however.
I was thinking of making another site, kind of a museum for old online games that have since shut down. I even started making it, but I forgot to continue. Maybe it'll be finished one day.
Right now, I just want to focus on other things, like this blog.
Last month, Misty's Otome Blog somehow got 645 views! How is that even possible?? Is it just bots visiting this place? Or are there actually real people reading what I've written?
These are the highest ranking posts for last month:
My Ikemen Series posts always seem to do well. The review I wrote on Mitsuhide's route is somehow still raking in those views, even though it's got to be a few years old by now! And people seem to keep reading those terrible Ikemen Vampire posts I did back in 2019. At least people are reading my Diabolik Lovers content. I think I put a lot more passion into them.
If we look at the stats for the last three months, Mitsuhide still seems to reign supreme. Maybe I should make him my blog's mascot? Why do people love "Ikemen Vampire Recap/Review No. 11"?? I was so tired when I wrote that, you could tell I had just given up. At that point I was just writing for the sake of it.
One of my Hakuoki posts seems to be gaining some views. I wonder why? Is a new game coming out? That's good though, because Hakuoki is one of my favourites and I want more people to read about it.
Mobile games seem to be the most popular. I'm sure it's true for most otome blogs. But it seems that one of my Code Realize posts got a few more views than usual. I think it's cause the game just came out on the Switch.
I like writing about the more obscure, less popular games. But if I want to get any traction, I've got to write about a lot of mobage...
Recently, my blog seems to be the most popular in the US, Canada, Germany, and France. Not as many people in my home country seem to be reading. Maybe I should include a Google Translate widget so people can read an awkward machine translation of my posts in every language.
It's probably better if I stop discussing my blog and actually find an interesting thing to write about. I've been meaning to write about the new Monster High releases, so my next post will probably be about that.
See you all later!
It will be a sad day when you delete the Misty's World website hosted on Neocities. It's one of the websites that convinced me to join Neocities. I have two accounts on Neocities, the one I am more active in is the one that I use for friends and family (wlmx.me). Well, if you do go with that decision to delete the site, I will still have fond memories of exploring the site.
