I felt like writing something today, so I just decided to do another post on Ikemen Vampire, because why not?
(Oh yeah, there's spoilers down below, so watch out for them!)
I'm actually getting quite dedicated to the game, I've managed to log on everyday to collect the free gifts, do the battles or whatever they are, and read a whole chapter. The love challenges have been rather easy so far, but prior mobage experience tells me that they're going to get a bit trickier down the line.
So far, I've managed to read around four chapters. A few things happen, like Arthur acting all thirsty for MC, but then Napoleon saves her, and then she gets tasked to wake Napoleon up, but then he just randomly kisses her in his sleep. Apparently it's something he does all the time, sleep-kissing. This made our MC super angry, so Napoleon apologised by taking her away on a horse to this field in the middle of nowhere.
Earlier on there was a story from Napoleon's point of view, but it wasn't really that special because most of the stuff in it was just copy-pasted from the regular version of that story. Also, in the original version there was a choice of what to say, but in the "His point of view" version the MC said something different from what I actually chose. (I bet that sentence doesn't even make any sense.)
That was when there was one of them love challenges came up, except in this game they're called "avatar challenges". Somehow I had enough diamonds to purchase the premium story, so that's what I did. I was slightly disappointed that the premium story didn't have a CG, but I got it for free, so I can't really complain.
All that really happens is that MC and Napoleon sit amongst the flowers, and she tells him a little bit about her blog, except she explains it in a way that someone from the past can understand. I like that this MC is a blogger, because bloggers are always cool. I should know, I am one myself.
MC's a travel blogger who just writes down everything about her day and then publishes it for the world to see, she says. She's even going to write about her journey into the past. If I were her, I'd probably keep that a secret, but whatever. Napoleon then asks her something about what happens when she has a bad day, and if she writes that down too. Then there's this really sweet bit, which in my opinion is quite well written, but I can't remember it that well even though I literally just read it. MC says that she instead writes about the good things that happened amongst the bad, and she writes about how others can avoid her mistakes so that they can have a good day instead. This bit was actually quite sweet and better than what I expected was going to be in this premium story. Then MC tells Napoleon that he should write his thoughts down in a journal himself, then a bit more dialogue happens, and the extra story ends.
I don't think I've ever read a premium story in a Cybird game before, but from what I've seen from this one, they might be quite good. Still, I wouldn't pay real money to get them, because they literally last five minutes and there's not even a CG. I don't know if they have voice acting, either, because I didn't have the sound on when I read it.
So far, I'm quite enjoying this route. I hope they go a little bit more into the vampire aspects of the story though. I really really am excited for more routes to come out, especially Arthur's because I like him. He sort of reminds me of Laito from Diabolik Lovers for some reason, I don't really know why though.
I keep comparing this series to DiaLovers, but they're both completely different, the only aspects they really share are the vampires. At least in IkeVamp they're not all really thirsty for the MC, so far they've all managed to keep their blood lust to themselves. Still, I do wish there was more blood sucking in this game, but hopefully there'll be some later on. IkeVamp's vampires are surprisingly nice though, they're all pretty kind to the MC, which is refreshing after all the games I've played recently.
I saw this meme the other day that basically said that Napoleon was a copy of Nobunaga from IkeSen. When I first saw the character designs for IkeVamp I did believe that, but when it's the same artist (well, at least I think it is) across the games, the characters are probably going to be sort of the same. I don't really think of Napoleon as like Nobunaga, but when I see Leonardo I immediately think of Masamune but without the eye patch. Mozart sort of reminds me of Ieyasu and a few of those IkeRev characters I can't remember. I'm sure if I play more of the game and learn more about everybody, they'll start to seem different to all the other Cybird characters.
This will not be my last IkeVamp post, I hope. The routes take so long to finish that I have to write about it in small chunks to avoid forgetting everything. Playing it in little parts everyday isn't as bad as it sounds, it makes it seem like a TV show where you're anticipating for the next episode to come out all the time.
I feel like I should start reviewing films and stuff on this blog. Not like proper, professional critic reviews, just like the regular unedited rambles I write on otome games. It'll give this blog a bit of variety, I suppose.
Anyways, that's all I have to write for now.
If you've managed to read this far, you're awesome! I don't actually know who reads this blog. I showed it to like one friend, but I dunno if they actually read it in their own time. I feel like if this blog was on Tumblr or something instead of in a closed Blogger bubble, it would be a lot more successful. I don't wanna use Tumblr though, because it sucks.
Oh yeah, I made this really cool website from scratch and I'm hoping to put it on Neocities today. Guess what it is? You'll never guess. It's a fansite..... for Period Cube. Yep. I just felt like making it. Plus, I think it might be the world's first Period Cube fanpage, so that's quite cool. I just need to add the finishing touches on it, then it should be live. Don't worry, I'll write a blog post advertising it!
I just wrote up there that I had written all I could write for now, yet I just went on to write another two paragraphs. I'm done for real now. Goodbye!
