I Fixed It.

Misty's World broke, but I managed to fix it in about two days. I thought it would take longer than that. The only place it's still wonky at is on my PC, because for some reason Chrome remembers how the old CSS style sheet worked and isn't replacing it with the new one.

I just wanted to write here that everything's alright again, and that Misty's World 3.5 is here!!

The Breaking of Misty's World

Hello, people who were redirected here from my website.

You may want to know what went wrong with it, right?

Well, lucky for you, I'm going to answer that right here!

Basically, what happened was that I was creating this new website, and I was trying to figure out how to make it so that the page resizes to look decent everywhere, no matter how small the screen size is. Then I went to look at Misty's World. I resized the browser screen, and the site twisted into this hideous mess.

So I tried to find a solution, and I think I edited the code and turned everything into even more of a hideous mess. It was like midnight or something, and I can't remember what I changed.

In order to fix this issue, I've put Misty's World on a temporary hiatus, whilst I completely rework the site again, even though I literally did it like a month ago.

I suppose that in the meantime, people can just enjoy my blog. Nobody looks at it normally, so this'll be a good time to get some traffic on it.

I'm going to go back to remaking my site now. Have a nice day.

My Child is Online!

I didn't really have a child, don't worry, but this project I've been working on is basically like a child to me. If you've been reading my previous posts, you may have heard about this Period Cube fansite I've been working on recently. After spending many, many hours on it, it's finally online.

I had been planning to upload it to Neocities from the start, but then when I went to put everything on there, it told me I couldn't upload my custom font unless I paid, which I completely understand. It was hard breaking up with the font, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. It was only used on the navigation bar and the title. Plus, I can't really complain because Neocities is such a great service.

The site doesn't really have too much on it to be honest, but I just wanted to be the one to make a fansite for an otome that isn't really too popular in the West. It was never my favourite game, but I had so much fun reviewing it that I wanted to make something for it. Also, I just needed an excuse to make another website. It's fun making something for a franchise so niche and unknown!

I'm typing this so fast, there's going to be loads of errors. Oh well.

If you want to check out the site, click here!

That's me done blogging for today. All I wanted to do was advertise this new site. See you all later!

Misty's World 3.0 is Finally Here!

If you were following my site last year, you may remember that around the time that it turned a year old, I completely and utterly revamped it to use a bit more CSS. At the time I thought that it used loads of CSS, but really it didn't use that much of it.

Misty's World is almost two years old now, so after being inspired by other people's sites with more fancy Cascading Style Sheets, I decided to revamp the site all over again. It's here, if you want to see the new design. I know, it doesn't look perfect, but I'm really bad with CSS so it's all I could do. Actually, I'm just realising that it looks a lot closer to how this blog looks now.

I literally deleted every old file from my site (Don't worry, I backed it up beforehand!), but my laptop's wireless signal thing was messing up again, and the Internet went off halfway through. It's really annoying because Neocities has a weird file management system, meaning that you have to delete each file one by one, not all at once. It is quite annoying.

Eventually, I managed to delete everything and upload all of the new stuff. There were a few errors, but they should all be fixed by now, except for one major, major error. I dunno if this is just my computer (I just partitioned my PC's hard drive and installed Windows 7 because it's way faster, I'm using that now and my trackpad driver isn't installed properly because it crashes a lot so that may be the issue) but on Chrome the left navigation bar doesn't work. The hyperlinks just won't click. It's weird because when I tried it with an old version of Internet Explorer, it worked fine. Hopefully other Chrome users won't have the same problem as I. It's annoying, why did it have to happen with such a popular browser?

I know this blog hasn't had a proper post in a while. I don't think I'm going to make a post on the Japan exclusive Hakuoki fan-disc I'm playing, because it's super hard to understand. I do get the basic plot of it, but it's harder for me to write about games in another language. I've been taking it super slow, even though it's quite a short game, it's been taking me ages for some reason. I dunno what I'm gonna be playing after that, so there may be a post drought for quite a while.

I'm going to start blogging about my doll collection soon, so there's that to look forward to. I know this is an otome blog, but originally it was a blog of all trades, with posts about anything, so it doesn't matter if I write about something different.

I should stop writing now, because that's all I have to say. See you all later!

BEWARE OF THE BLINKIES

I apologise for the very stupid sounding post title.

I'm just writing to tell everybody that I might start furnishing this blog with blinkies and Deviantart stamps to make this site look less... generic. Be warned. Blinkies and stuff are kind of tacky looking at times but I'll try to make them seem pretty!

Do not worry though, I won't be using any of the weird ones that say stuff about love and religion and edgy rock bands. Most of them are like that, so hopefully there will be a nice enough one that isn't tacky and stupid that I can put here.

I just found a bunch of otome ones so I really really want them on here. They might be going on my Neocities site too.

:)

UPDATE: I found one decent, but kinda tacky blinkie that I added to the sidebar. It says "Diet Coke Girl", and I suppose that'll look alright on my blog. Diet Coke is like a drug for me, so it would make sense if I add it to my blog. All of the others are designed for middle-aged women though, they say stuff like "HAPPINESS IS: Being an Auntie" and "I love my hubby :)" so I'm definitely not gonna add any of those because I don't have a husband, or a niece or nephew yet. I'm still looking at stamps to add.

Also, earlier I added a custom cursor, and I'm thinking of changing the site's background to something 20% cooler. Stay tuned for more updates!

The Second Renaissance of Misty's World (The Fizzy Drink Post)

I haven't updated my site this often in a while! That is why I am calling this time period "The Second Renaissance of Misty's World", even though it might actually be the third renaissance, I dunno for sure.

I'm currently drinking a can of Mango Diet Coke. I do like the new DC flavours they've brought out, even the new "fiesty cherry" flavour that tickles the back of your throat if you drink too much in one go. The original cherry flavour was better though, I think. Diet Coke does contain aspartame that apparently gives you cancer, but I love it so much over real Coke. It tastes so different to regular Coke that when I drink the normal stuff or Coke Zero it tastes so different. This lady in the Morrisons sandwich aisle once told me that Pepsi Max doesn't have aspartame in it, so maybe I should start drinking that?

It's funny how a post about my website has turned into a fizzy drink post! I'm just gonna keep talking about them. Have you ever seen those massive Coca-Cola Freestyle Machines they have in the cinemas and theme parks? They're awesome, except the Vanilla Diet Coke tastes absolutely rank, so don't try that, whatever you do. Originally I thought that they stored every different flavour drink in a separate container in the machine, but they just store the original type of each drink and just mix it with flavour shots depending on which one you choose. That's why the Cherry Coke has a few calories in it unlike the regular consumer version, because it uses the same sugary syrup that is used by the normal drinks in there. I've only used these machines in North America, I think the ones back in the UK have different drinks like Doctor Pepper (the best fizzy drink ever!) which the American one did not have.

Speaking of America, I'd like to talk about a difference I found between the lemonade there and how it is in England. Sometimes in a restaurant or pub back home I like to order it, and it comes as a clear fizzy liquid, a bit like Sprite or 7-Up. But once I ordered it in America and it was literally just squeezed lemons and water, I did not like it at all, even though it was less manufactured than the stuff back home. I think that kind is called "cloudy lemonade" or something.

Even though the U.S. was colonised by British people and they speak our language, I was surprised as to how different things were over there. They eat a lot of different things. When I went there when I was younger I went into this cafe and I wanted a chicken and stuffing sandwich, then I was disappointed to hear that they didn't do that flavour. Everything seems to have more sugar and stuff in it, too. It's a nice place to visit but I don't really think their food is as good. I don't really like burgers that much, unless they're made on someone's barbeque, nor do I like much American chocolate, except Hershey's Cookies and Cream or Hershey's Kisses. They have some pretty cool chain eateries though, like Dairy Queen, the Cheesecake Factory and Chili's. I went to the Cheesecake Factory and one slice of cheesecake was over one-thousand calories!!

Wow, this post has evolved quite a lot from the original subject, like a conversation would. This might be the first time that I've actually talked about something that isn't fictional or digital! I should write about these things more often. I do like talking about travelling and stuff.

What I wrote up there does kind of give away what country I'm from, but I don't think a predator is gonna track me down from just that information.

Have a nice night, everybody!

The One Year Anniversary of Misty's World

On June 9th, 2018, it will have been a year since I moved Misty's World to Neocities. The original site was created in January 2017, but it was radically different to what it is today. It wasn't until the Neocities era that my site actually became something special.

I'm just going to treat the Neocities migration date as the official anniversary. When the day actually comes, I'll be on holiday, so I'll probably forget about it. Oh well. I'm just glad I didn't give up on the site a month in.

I wanted to practice my HTML skills and make some cool website, but I can't think of anything to make.

Do you think auto-correct messes up people's spelling? I do. That's why I turn it off.

:)

Site updates have been slow lately. Sometimes I want to do other things than HTML coding. I'm also just too lazy to come up with new page ideas. These are very lame excuses, I know.

There's only a bit more than a week left until I see Infinity War in my local cinema on April 26th. The film does come out on April 27th, but I'm seeing a special pre-showing where you get popcorn discounts and some free collectible coin. It's in 3D, so hopefully they'll actually add some crazy effects, but they probably won't. I would see it in IMAX if I could see it again, because it is the first Hollywood film to be shot entirely in IMAX cameras.

That's all I have to say for now. I know this is an abrupt conclusion, but I have to go and do something. Bye.

Monday, 26 March 2018

Hello.

This is another one of those boring "Sorry I haven't updated this blog in forever, even though I had loads of free time this week" posts. I apologise for the lack of fresh content on this blog. I did never intend for this thing to get regular updates. It just exists for me to write random stuff whenever I feel like it.

If you want fresh new content, check out my website. Tomorrow I am going to be working on a new page for Misty's World.

To be honest, I never actually edit anything I put on there. I just give it a quick glance over, then I upload it. I'm just really lazy that way.

Hopefully you are having a good week, whoever's reading this. I'm excited for this weekend because it's Easter and I get to eat a lot of chocolate.

Goodbye! ;)

One Vote

You know that little poll thing I put on the sidebar of this blog? It has a whopping one vote on it! WOOHOO!

In other news, I put this fancy little Google Search bar at the bottom of the homepage of Misty's World, which allows you to search all of my main sites, including this blog! Cool, right?

I hooked my laptop up to this mini television that I usually use for my Raspberry Pi. I feel so cool using two monitors!

...

Is this blog dead now? I think this blog's dead now.

Misty's World is slowly dying, too.

A Christmas Post

I just wanted to say "Merry Christmas" to whoever is reading this. That's all.

I still don't have any new ideas for my website yet.

Goodbye.

CSS

I just decided to try and learn some CSS, so I can actually make modern looking websites. I made a generic page using web tutorials. Most of the hard stuff was done by copying and pasting, but eventually I'll learn how to actually do it.

CSS makes websites a lot better, doesn't it. I tried to add some CSS to Misty's World's navigation bar, but it didn't work. Maybe the site doesn't want to move on from the 90s. Now I've realised that so much of my terrible webpage designing skills could be fixed with CSS!

Most people would now go onto their sites and CSSify it, but I'm not gonna do that. There are two reasons why. Firstly, it's too much work and secondly, I want to keep the 90s GeoCities aesthetic that I have on my site. CSS would just make it modern. Eventually it would end up looking like one of those ugly webpages using a flat design.

I would make a separate site to test my CSS skills, but I can't think of any ideas. I would ask people to give me suggestions in the comments section, but nobody actually reads this blog so I'm gonna get nothing.

I'm Stuck for Website Ideas...

I'm trying to make an effort of updating my site regularly so it doesn't die. Everyday I check Neocities in case anybody posted on my profile, and every few days I update something on my site.

Recently I have been having the website creator's version of writers block. I can't think of anything else to put onto my site or update. I want to make another site, but everything I make looks exactly like my existing site.

Maybe one day when I am lying in bed pondering life or when I'm walking home from school, I'll think of something to add to Misty's World. Until then, nothing major is coming to the site.

For some reason I just like making new websites. That was probably why I decided to move from Escargot Spaces and create this lovely blog.

There is nothing else to write, so until then, goodbye.

:)
