I think I'm going to be posting a lot less on this blog whilst I'm playing this game, because when I play I keep thinking about what I'm gonna write, and since there's not that much to report on really, I should just relax and not worry about this site.
My old charger was one of those universal chargers, it can charge multiple consoles but not all at once. I only brought it because it was the only one they had, and the person who gave me the PSP didn't have the original power cable or nothing. Earlier yesterday it strangely stopped working, I thought it was my console's fault at first, and after troubleshooting it for a while with no results, the bit in the middle of the lead where the multiple charging cable types connected to the actual power wire just pulled apart. I have no idea why, but it was a cheap third party charger so it probably wasn't built very well.
This new charger I got is made by the same company unfortunately (it was the only type I could get!) but this time it's not a universal one, it's actually designed for the PSP and has an actual power brick instead of it being just a simple USB cable like before. Let's hope that it doesn't meet the same fate as the last one...
I was chuffed that I could complete Diabolik Lovers without having to order a charger online and waiting ages for it to come. Today I managed to complete Shu's route, but I haven't finished reading what happened in English yet. I can't be bothered yet, plus I kind of understand the main plot of it anyway to be honest.
Oh yeah, there's loads of spoilers down below.
Again, there isn't much of a plot in this route, it just follows Yui's relationship with Shu. Shu's not really that abusive to Yui, he just acts a bit cold and perverted towards her at times, but eventually he falls in love with her. He doesn't suck her blood that much at all. I already mentioned this in the last post, I think.
Even though I already knew the basics of Shu's backstory before starting his route, I got to learn a bit more about it here. From what I understood in Japanese, when Shu was a child, he ran away from his caretakers out into the forest where he met this human boy called Edgar. They became friends, but I don't think Shu ever told him that he was actually a vampire or anything. I think Reiji finds out and tells Shu he shouldn't be friends with a human or something, I dunno because I couldn't really understand what he was saying because he uses a lot of big fancy words with lots of Kanji.
But then Edgar's village gets set on fire (maybe by vampires? I dunno who did it really, but I'm sure it says somewhere) and Shu thinks that he's dead and it haunts him for the rest of his life. But I know a bit about what happens in the other games (look away if you don't wanna be spoiled) and I'm pretty sure that Edgar turns up as a love interest who's also a vampire, so he's not really dead. But Shu doesn't know that yet.
I don't even know if Shu actually tells Yui about his past because we see it all in a separate scene without her. Really, I should be reading a translation to understand it all but I can't be bothered right now to be honest.
That weird Richter man doesn't show up in this route at all, which is alright. But that also meant that Yui didn't get to find the truth about her heart, but I suppose it doesn't really matter. I think at the end though, Shu tells her something about her father and that he's gone to Transylvania or something and that he's a vampire hunter? Then Yui mentions something about passports so he might be wanting to take her there herself? I dunno what happens to them, because the endings just them in a forest mucking around and I didn't understand much of that dialogue. They don't leave the mansion though I don't think, but they may or may not have gotten married, I dunno.
In the Heaven scenario (which I have not finished), it seems like Reiji tries to rape Yui or suck her blood or something, but then Shu comes to save her and that's when I put my PSP down. Those two brothers really don't have a good relationship. I know a bit about why things are that way, but I suppose I'll find out more when I read Reiji's route.
I was thinking of picking my next route randomly, but I really wanna do Subaru's path next so I may just go straight onto his. If I didn't pick randomly last time, I would've picked him straight after Ayato, but doing the best characters first always makes playing the others worse. Kanato is my least favourite so he might end up being last, unless I really don't feel like doing Laito's next, because he's my second least liked. I do like Laito though, just not as much as the others. I thought Kanato was a freak at first, but now I like him a tiny little bit, just not as a love interest.
Wow, I wrote a lot more than I expected to do. But this is the end of my post now, so I suppose this is goodbye for now. Bye. Have a nice evening, or day, depending on what time you're reading this.
UPDATE TIME:
I read a translation and I realised that the ending I got is super strange but also a bit romantic. Shu and Yui (who has completely ditched all of her religion for her lover) walk through this magic portal and decide to illegally live in Eastern Europe together, leaving everything back home behind. Apparently people will be pursuing them now so they're just gonna hide there forever I suppose. Yui's like super devoted to him and will literally follow him into the depths of Hell if she has to. It feels like she likes him a bit too much, really. The ending CG is also super creepy but also really pretty. I just had to write my thoughts on that here but I'm going to stop writing now. Goodbye!!
