Collar X Malice: Final Thoughts!

Well, it took way longer than I thought, but I can now say that I've completed Collar X Malice. There is an extra chapter in the common route that I unlocked that I haven't actually finished yet, but I've still completed all of the routes and stuff.

There are spoilers down below, as usual.......

Last time I wrote, I was at the very start of chapter seven of Yanagi's route. I didn't expect this final chapter to be so long, so it ended up taking me more than an hour to complete it with the voices on. There's more fluffy stuff here because really everybody's just waiting until someone manages to catch Saeki. In the end the game gets you to figure out where Saeki is, and the choices you make determine whether or not you get the good ending. Thanks to a translation error in one of the choices, I misunderstood what the game was trying to say, thought it was the wrong answer, and got a really sad (but also kind of romantic in places) ending where X-Day ends up happening and everyone's scared and Ichika and Yanagi want to protect each other or something. Once I looked up a walkthrough online, I managed to make the right choices and make everything happy for Ichika.

You end up tracking down Saeki and you have to use the trigger mode three times to shoot him. I had only failed this "mini-game" once, at the start of the game when I thought it was just a fancy transition effect and had no idea that I had to actually click something. This time was the first time I actually messed it up, and it caused Yanagi to get shot multiple times. I think he was going to die, but I never found out because I skipped back because I didn't want to see that.

After all of the X-Day cases got solved, literally everybody, yes, that includes some of the side characters, joins together for one big Christmas party. Yanagi goes up to the rooftop with Ichika and gives her this ring as a present. No, he didn't propose or nothing, it's just a regular gift that happens to be a ring. But it was cute, and they kissed afterwards. Of course Enomoto and the others were in the background watching the exchange.

I really enjoyed this route! Yanagi's a really interesting character and a great love interest. I know he's probably the canon LI and all that so he gets the most plot in his route, but I wish that the other routes were the same length as his too. But I didn't really have any problems with the game. There weren't many issues with the translation, but that one at the end of Yanagi's route which helped me get a bad end was quite annoying. There were a few other weird errors too, but most of them were in the common route.

This game is just wonderful! I absolutely would buy loads of merchandise of it if I could. There was quite enough romance in it to satisfy me and the plot was rather intriguing. My favourite route was probably Sasazuka's, but Okazaki's is almost as good too. It's going to be strange parting with it after so long. All I have left to read is this extra prologue thing involving Adonis, I don't think I have much longer left to go on it. I think it leads into the common route.

Today I brought both my Vita and my PSP out with me so that when I finish Collar X Malice during my lunch, I can move straight on to Diabolik Lovers. I have my Earpods in my pocket so that I can take full advantage of the dummy head mic! I just hope that I'm not in a loud place so that I won't be able to hear it as well through the earbuds.

I suppose I'll end this post off now. I must've done quite a few posts on Collar X Malice these past few weeks. See you all later!
