Here I am, back again with another Ikemen Vampire post!
A lot of things have happened, some that I cannot entirely remember, but I'll try to recap as much as I can. I tried to save some of the free chapter tickets for later, but they reset everyday so I ended up wasting them. Oh well. I suppose I learned from that mistake to use all of the tickets up the day you get them!
I also figured out how the cards worked, well at least I think I did. They give you extra bonuses in the battle segments, meaning that you get more money to spend on items required to pass through the story. To get more cards I decided to use all of my gacha tokens up.
Mostly I ended up getting useless avatar clothing, and a few boring, unvoiced cards, but there were two interesting things I got. Those were a voiced card of Vincent with his bog standard sprite art, and this:
I wasn't interested in Jean at first, but now this card's making me want to play his route. Unfortunately, his route's only out in Japan at the moment.
The gacha's sort of addictive, actually. I'm not going to spend any real money on it though. I haven't played one of these properly in years, not since this Littlest Pet Shop game I had on my old BlackBerry in 2012. I just wish that this gacha didn't keep giving me rubbish avatar clothing!
So, shall we start talking about the story now?
In the last Ikemen Vampire post, I decided to predict what was going to happen next, because it's fun. This is what I wrote: " I think that soon is going to be the love confession scene. So maybe like the MC gets kidnapped or something by some crazy vampire, and she's about to get her blood sucked, but then Napoleon comes in to save the day, and then on their journey back to the mansion, they have this moment where MC's like "Why did you save me?" even though it's obvious that he saved her because he cared about her, then Napoleon's like "Because I love you!" and they kiss."
Let's see if any of that was correct.
One time earlier in the story, this carriage of people were all spying on Napoleon for some reason. It just so happened that Shakespeare was in there with them. There was this bloke in there who seemed to really, really want to get revenge on our chosen love interest, so I immediately knew that he was going to pop up later on in the route as a bad guy. If Shakespeare was with him, does that mean that he's also a bad guy. This man went on about Napoleon forgetting that he'd done a lot of bad stuff in his life or something, I can't remember it exactly. Then these people leave until the plot calls them back again.
Some more stuff happens, but then the really interesting bit happens! Napoleon starts feeling a bit... ill. He didn't seem to have an appetite for anything, so MC gets concerned. She just thought he had a common bug or something, but I knew that was probably just turning into a vampire.
Out of concern for the man she loves, MC decides to check up on him in his room. That was a bad idea. Napoleon acts all weird and tries to suck her blood. He very much almost ends up achieving that goal, but of course, MC pushes him away.
Then we end up getting a lot of cheesy lines like this. I thought this kind of stuff was only reserved for the premium stories? This scene would've been great with some voice acting though.
MC's like "What the hell are you doing mate?" and Napoleon tries to play it off as teasing, but it's really obvious that he's lying.
The next day, MC decides to go out on a trip with Vincent instead of actually telling someone about what happened the last night. I know it would've been sort of embarrassing to talk about, but still, maybe someone should know that Napoleon's turning into a crazy vampire? But I don't think MC actually thought of it as anything to do with being a vampire, she just thinks he's a bit ill or something.
Meanwhile, Napoleon is like "MUST. DRINK. BLOOD." so Jean hands him a bottle of it, but he just ungratefully pushes it on the floor and says, "No, I must be human, so I can be with MC until she goes back to her time!".
MC and Vincent are having a whale of a time together, but oh no! the villain man from earlier comes to say hello. He wants to kidnap our heroine to annoy Napoleon, but Vincent tries to fight back. Well, he tries to fight for like one second, before MC's like "No! Let me be kidnapped, please!" because she doesn't think that a fully grown vampire could defeat one man. Don't vampires have super strength or something?
So MC gets stolen away and thrown in some room somewhere. She's like "Oh no!" but then one second later Napoleon arrives. How did he come so quickly? I think Vincent went to tell him immediately after the incident occurred.
Napoleon battles the bad guy (he doesn't have a name), but it all ends with the poor bishounen lying on the floor, covered in blood. He's going to survive, don't worry. MC's like "OH NO!" and then the story ended for the avatar challenge, one that I won't be able to pass for a very long time.
It seems that I managed to predict the kidnapping part. I've seen it in too many stories now. The LI always comes like immediately so there's never even much point in having one other than to pad the story out. This trope was even in the Barbie movie I watched last night, except at least the character didn't need her lover to escape.
This route is becoming quite predictable. I heard that Mozart's route is way better, so I want to finish this as soon as possible so I can move onto that one. I should've picked it from the beginning, but I just felt like having a change from the usual tsundere characters I always pick first.
The other day Cybird announced that they're adding some new boys to IkeVamp, well, only the Japanese version right now. There's like some blonde person called Vlad, and a few others whose looks haven't been revealed yet. They probably won't be in the English version for a very long time. I just really want a Dazai route, but I don't think that even Japan has one of those yet. He seems like such an interesting character. I tried so hard to get one of his cards in the gacha...
This concludes my fifth IkeVamp post. I feel like this one was more of a recap than anything, but then again, most reviews are like this anyway.
Hopefully all of you are enjoying the summer. I did go on holiday, but now I'm at home and I'm just staying inside. I don't particularly like the hot weather, when I was abroad recently it was hard to cope. But I still managed somehow. Maybe that was because I was in a theme park where there's lots of coolers and indoor queue lines. I think my body's only built to cope with English temperatures.
I'll stop writing before I bore you by complaining about the heat. See you all later!
