....

(Spoilers down below for Code: Realize: Future Blessings!)

Well, Van Helsing's route ended how I expected it to. Him and Cardia kissed and made up, then it cut to the credits and then this cute scene where he proposed to her, and it was all over. I quite enjoyed this route, even though it was just pure fluffiness. That is what a fan-disc is supposed to have, isn't it? It was a shame it was so short, but it's probably just because I read it so quickly.

They kind of blew their "lovers' spat" wayyyyyyyyy out of proportion, to be honest I didn't really see much of a problem in their relationship. Cardia and Van Helsing must be such a perfect couple if the only issue they have is that they're trying too hard with each other. At least the writers didn't make them have proper lovers' fights where they all get angry with each other.

After completing this, I opened up one of Delly's short stories (not much happened except that he attempted to clean), and then started Lupin's after story. I haven't finished it yet, but after reading a bit of it, I have a general idea of how every one of these after stories is going to go.

1. Cardia and love interest are super happy in their relationship.
2. Cardia's has a slight, insignificant problem with said relationship.
3. Everybody else tries to help them.
4. Problems get solved.
5. Cardia and love interest kiss and make up.
6. Roll credits.
7. After scene appears with a cute romantic CG.
8. The End.

I'm not complaining though, it's nice reading (and self-inserting into) cutesy romance stories about happy couples with not much to worry about. And the CGs are super pretty in this game, like the original. Each character has around six or seven CGs, but Finis and Herlock have a lot more because they have full-blown routes in this game.

In Lupin's after story, Cardia's problem is a bit harder for me to understand. She's annoyed that Lupin's really good at getting her to fall in love and dominating her, whilst she's unable to anything to make him in love with her more?? I don't really know how this is really much of a problem, but I suppose Cardia's new to love so she might think every little thing's a problem in her mind. Maybe this is an actual big issue but I'm just weird so I don't notice it as one.

The first CG with Lupin is so pretty, but I was already spoiled with it in the opening credits and (I think) the promotional page for this game. He's shirtless in bed with Cardia, and he looks so handsome, and Cardia also looks quite pretty too. I do like her as a MC even though I just ruin her by self-inserting. I think if you keep her name as Cardia the VAs actually say her name, but I won't do that, and with this game I sometimes don't have the voices on.

For some reason, even though Cardia and Lupin are happily married, they don't sleep in the same bed because apparently Lupin thinks it's more fun to creep into her room in the middle of the night? That's kind of cute, I suppose.

Cardia talks to Victor about her "problem" (Saint-Germain is off in France and Impey is... somewhere) and he decides to go to Van Helsing and Delly about it, even though I'm not really sure how they're gonna be able to help with this. They suggest creating a false tragic event to strengthen their bonds. I'm pretty sure they already have been through a lot of tragic stuff, so why would they want to go through anymore? And isn't their bond already strong enough?

I think they actually do something though, because Cardia's sitting in her bed just waiting for Lupin, and he comes in and says that something's outside, and I turned my Vita off to take a break. They're probably gonna get attacked by something or have to fight someone and then at the end they're gonna kiss and be all happy.

I really like this game so far. I think I say this in literally every single otome post I write. I'm a bit repetitive, aren't I? This is the first otome fan-disc I've actually played before. There aren't really that many fan-discs available in English, except really the Code: Realize ones and the Hakuoki ones that they put into the regular games. I really wished that Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly had one of these, but it's probably never gonna happen.

Having Code: Realize fan-discs makes more sense than having a sequel, because I don't really know what new plot they could cook up, plus they'd have to make them continuations of the already existing routes instead of making Cardia fall in love with someone again. Having cutesy short stories is really the best thing to do, and it's an easy way to make some quick cash out of otome fans.

I think I'm going to work through all of the after-stories first, then Finis and Herlock's routes, then the side story thing that features new characters. And I mustn't forget to read Delly's short stories as I go along. The game said that I'd learn more about him through these stories, but all I've learnt so far is that he doesn't know how to clean properly. I thought they were gonna be back-story episodes, but I can't count that out yet because I'm only one episode in.

But it's going pretty good so far. I wonder if they're going to make any more fan-discs, even though they already have two? If they did, they'd be Switch or PS4 exclusives. They're stopping Vita cartridge production and they've stopped making the consoles now, so I doubt the Vita's getting any more otome games, even though they literally just released Wintertide Miracles and London Detective Mysteria.

At least the Vita has so many good games that I won't have to think about getting another console for a while. I'm really happy that I've got one. Hopefully the game prices won't go up though!
