(Spoilers for Code: Realize: Future Blessings down below!)
Saint-Germain's after story was mainly just plot, with a bit of fluff and some cute CGs scattered here and there. It was a good route, probably not my favourite of them all, but still great.
In this alternate timeline, it takes a lot longer for them to figure out how to diminish Cardia's poison. Victor just doesn't figure it out on his own, instead Saint-Germain and Cardia have to travel all around the world to find something that might help solve the problem.
They decide to travel to France to find some research that Saint-Germain's friend did on the Philosopher's Stone, but it's gone! So they just decide to keep travelling onto Paris and into another carbon copy of the Sainty-G's original mansion in London. It's not a carbon copy for any plot reason or anything, it's just because Otomate couldn't be bothered to make anymore backgrounds, even though they made backgrounds for Paris that probably won't get used again.
There's also a very tiny issue that Saint-Germain has with Cardia - he's scared that she'll leave him once her poison goes, because he was originally the only one who could kind of withstand it, because of his regenerative abilities. Throughout the route he constantly wants to kiss her, but Cardia always stops him because she's scared that the poison's gonna kill him. Lupin catches Saint-Germain talking to himself about his problem and tells him to stop being such a dickhead, a confrontation that even has its own CG. Cardia hears it all and steps out and then they all make up and everything's alright again.
We learn quite a bit about Saint-Germain here. He wasn't actually born a Count, he just used to be a slave somewhere before he almost died and joined Idea. Also, he's not actually French like I thought he was, they mention in the after-credits scene that he's from somewhere in the west of Asia. Now I have to stop imagining him with a French accent whenever I read the game! There's a lot of countries he could possibly be from, but maybe they'll say exactly where in the next game?
Eventually they find the research notes, because Lupin just happened to have stolen them years before and conveniently decided to keep them in his hideout. And it's a fancy emerald tablet that Cardia can touch without issue! They hand it over to Victor and he figures out a way to suppress the poison.
I did enjoy this route, but I wish that there was a bit more fluff. I didn't expect it to be so plot based, I thought that it was going to be romance focused with Saint-Germain acting like a yandere or something. Lupin was awesome in this story, you can really tell that he cares about Cardia so much. Even though I liked him a lot before, I'm starting to like him even more. He was always my second favourite love interest in the game.
Now I've done every single after story. All I have is the short story "Lupin's Gang", Sherlock and Finis' routes, and the rest of Delly's cute little side stories, that happen to have some of the most adorable CDs ever.
In the post yesterday I got my copy of Collar X Malice. I might actually play it straight after this one instead of Period Cube, because I've really really wanted to play this one for a very long time. But first I'm going to take my time with Future Blessings. With books and otome games, even if I'm really enjoying them, for some reason I always want to finish them as soon as possible, especially if I have a massive backlog. But I must go through this game leisurely, otherwise it won't be as fun anymore.
That's all I have to write for today. As you can tell, I'm very much enjoying this fan-disc. Once I run out of otome games to play, I don't know what I'll write about. Maybe I'll enter the X reader fanfiction market? I don't know, I shouldn't really worry about it. See you all later!
