Collar X Malice #6 (I still can't think of a more creative title...)

I'm back at it again with another Collar X Malice post. There was going to be more of these anyway, unless my Vita blew up and I couldn't play no more. I always seem to write these posts at the worst times, when I'm tired and I can't remember much of the plot, but I still continue to produce them in this state everyday.

Today I played through about two chapters of Enomoto's route, but about 70% it was without sound so I didn't get to hear any of the voices. My trophy completion is currently at about 30%, which is more than what I had after finishing every single route in Amnesia: Memories.

(There's spoilers below, by the way.)

At the beginning I missed Sasazuka's route a bit, but luckily you don't see the others much outside of their own routes, so I luckily don't get to see him enough to feel too bad. It just felt a bit funny seeing him insulting Ichika again, not long after witnessing him warm up to her and actually act nice.

I thought that Enomoto would be the most normal out of them all, but he still has a really sad backstory and problems like the rest of them. But almost every otome character I've met so far is like that. You learn about Enomoto's past pretty early on, in the first chapter I think.

He's a really interesting character though. At first he tries to push Ichika back, but she gets through to him quite quickly. So far I know that he's interested in history, is a bit scared of women, has a little sister and doesn't actually need to wear an eyepatch. I think that he also might be a bit of a hopeless romantic, like how I am now after playing these games for many months.

The reason why Enomoto left the police is because his coworker/really good friend got killed by Adonis and I think he wanted to investigate it without being bound by the rules of the workplace, or something along the lines of that. I think that he's almost broke and that he lives in the office with Yanagi. It's surprising how much information I know about him two chapters in. Enomoto's also not really working very hard at solving his X-Day case because of his past and his friend's death, so hardly any progress has been made.

Ichika has to visit his former boss in the police to learn a bit more about Enomoto so that she can understand him better. Then one day she just gets a call (I think it's from the former boss) that Enomoto's drunk and that she has to help him. I have no idea why he called her since she hardly even knows him, but whatever. Poor Ichika has to drag him out of the pub and all the way back to the office. She tries to put him to bed, but Enomoto attempts to fall asleep hugging her like a pillow and makes a few drunken comments about her. It sort of reminds me of the scene from Sasazuka's route where he hugs Ichika in his sleep, but this is slightly different to that.

(Ichika's first name is blocked out in the CG below because I forgot when screenshotting it that I had changed it to my real name....)

Enomoto actually goes to Ichika's house to apologise for the incident the next day, and ends up staying for breakfast. Kazuki comes out (Ichika finds out that he's in a band quite early on in this timeline) and acts like a dickhead, as usual, but Enomoto basically tells him to stop treating his sister like shit and he walks off in anger. He seems to be quite good at dealing with kids, but that's because he has a sibling of his own.

Then some more stuff happens that I honestly can't remember, but it ends with Ichika getting caught in a crime scene whilst on her way to meet Enomoto (Who's quite friendly with her now!). Don't worry, it wasn't a bad ending. I got one of those intentionally earlier by making a wrong turning. This teenager is being threatened by these random thugs. Ichika attempts to stop them, but in order to save this kid, she has to strip for them. Before she takes anything off, Enomoto comes to save the day, and really has a go at these thugs. There's even a CG here too. But then I stopped playing, so I dunno what happens next.

I think that I probably missed out a lot of details, but I think that I'm not supposed to be giving out a plot summary, I'm really meant to just share my opinions. It's quite early on in the route to say too much, but at least I can say that I'm still enjoying this game. At first Enomoto didn't stand out to me too much, but I really like him. He's rather eccentric and just a nice person. I can understand why he didn't trust Ichika at first, but now everything seems to be quite fine. I feel like this route is going to be more romantic and less plot-based than the others, even though the ones I've done so far have quite a lot of cute character interactions in them. This is really all I have to say about it so far.

It feels like this game is taking me a while to complete, but I think that's probably not the case. I might be a bit slower this time because I brought my headphones out in public and listened to the voices instead of turning the sound off sometimes (I never usually do this), but it's still about the same length as the other games I've played, except the common route is really short. It doesn't really matter anyway.

I'm suprer tired, so I'm going to publish this post and log off. Hopefully anybody whose reading this will have had a nice day. :)

See you all later!
