It's Christmas...

Hello. As you probably already are very much well aware of, it's Christmas, or it almost is. I don't really know why I'm writing this post, I just wanted to wish all of my readers (if there are any) a Merry Christmas, and to say that this blog is going on a short break until after the New Year!

PsychicEmotion6 - Final Thoughts/Hidaka Route Review

I did it. I finally managed to finish every route. Yes, I may not have gotten every ending, but I'll leave those for another day. This post will be a slight summary/review of Hidaka's route, with my final thoughts on PsychicEmotion6 in general sprinkled in too.

PLEASE NOTE: There are no screenshots in this review because for some reason my PS Vita is having difficulties with connecting to my PC through WiFi. Sorry!

PsychicEmotion6 - Tsukasa Route Review

Today, I will be covering the route in this game that I was very excited for - Tsukasa's. This'll probably be my second to last PsychicEmotion6 post, which means that soon this blog won't be saturated with it anymore!

I have a lot I want to talk, I mean, write, about here, so I'd better type it all fast before I forget everything!

PsychicEmotion6 Vol. 5 (Drama CD Review)

Hello! I'm here once again to saturate my blog with another PsychicEmotion6 post! Don't worry, there's only two more to go after this one!

In a previous post, I mentioned that I managed to obtain one of the drama CDs for a super cheap price, so cheap that I had no idea how the Amazon seller could even profit off of it. Well, I just listened to the CD, five minutes ago actually, and now I'm here to review it, sort of...

As you can see from the image above, the CD I managed to get was Subaru's. I ordered it before playing his route, and even though in the game I didn't really care for him, I liked him quite a bit in this audio drama thing.

PsychicEmotion6 - Subaru Route Review

I have now completed the fifth route in this game. I hope that this one would shake up the formula a bit, and maybe do something different, but it still sticks to repeating the same events that I've already read about four times! At least this one does get quite interesting in the later chapters.

Welcome to another very informal review on PsychicEmotion6. Please be aware of spoilers!

PsychicEmotion6 - Shina Route Review

Hello, and welcome to another PsychicEmotion6 route review. We still have three more to get through after this one! I managed to binge most of this route in one day, which means I'll probably be less likely to forget a lot of the plot points.

PsychicEmotion6 - Mizuki Route Review

I'm here again, this time reviewing Mizuki's route. The general structure of this one is basically the same as the last two I've played, so summarising most of it will just be a waste of time. It seems that each route follows the same basic formula, just adding in a few little character specific things to spice it up.

PsychicEmotion6 - Kazuteru Route Review

It's that time again, time for another PsychicEmotion6 review. This time, the random name picker chose the route of the boy featured on the cover, Kazuteru Hinomiya. There's not really much else to say, so let's start the review, shall we?

As always, there'll be lots of spoilers down below, so beware!

PsychicEmotion6 - Aoi Route Review/Initial Thoughts

I'm back with another console game review! This time I'm playing another Japanese exclusive game, PsychicEmotion6, released in 2016 by Otomate, who produce about 99% of the otoge I've played. In the past when I've played games in Japanese, I haven't been able to understand them enough to discuss them, but luckily PsychicEmotion6 happens to use a lot of simple language. I've been able to follow the plot quite well so far.

Like usual, I'm going to review all of the routes, but at the end I'm going to make a final thoughts post, spoiler-free for those people who actually want to play the game. So, let's start discussing the game, shall we?

Another Small Update

Hello! You may have been wondering why I haven't posted for a couple of weeks. Or you probably didn't, but that doesn't matter. I haven't written anything yet, because I'm busy playing PsychicEmotion6. I'm planning to individually review each route from that game, then do a little spoiler-free final thoughts post at the end. After that, I'll be taking a break from this blog, because it's Christmas soon!

I was considering updating this blog's theme, but I'm just going to do it in the new year to make things a bit fresh for the new decade. I can't believe that next year will be 2020. It feels like 2010 wasn't that long ago! I'm updating the header of the blog too, because I'm tired of it now. Actually, I was also considering moving everything over to Wordpress, but I've thought about it and I'm happy staying here.

Today I looked at my blog's stats, and it turns out that my Ikemen Vampire posts are the most popular! I suppose that makes sense because it's a mobile game which literally anybody can play, because every man and his dog owns a smartphone nowadays. Does that mean that if I make more IkeVamp posts, I'll get more views? The post with the most views is the first post in that series, so I'm guessing that people lost interest after that one, haha.

I am very excited to review another console game again. The last time I did that was back in May or July or something. I can't remember when, but it was before the summer.

This concludes today's post! Check back in a few days for my next proper review!

Diabolik Lovers MORE, BLOOD: Volume Five (A Review)

Guess what I just got in the post today? That's right, a new drama CD. My third one, actually. Three just happens to be my lucky number, so this CD should be quite special.

So, what CD did I get? If you read the title, it's Volume Five of the Diabolik Lovers MORE, BLOOD line, featuring Yuma. This disc is from second series of drama CDs Rejet released for this franchise. They came out all the way back in 2013, so I'm a little bit late to the party, not just a little bit late, very late. Six years late, in fact.

I do love the cover art for these CDs, so much that I display each one on my Otome Shrine.

I have been waiting for this disc to come to me for a few weeks, and almost every day I checked the post for it. Actually, this CD was purchased entirely with Swagbucks, proving that these free gift card sites really do work!

Misty's Blog: The Second Anniversary!

(WARNING: What started as a simple anniversary post turned into a full on discussion on the history of this blog.)

It was on this very day, exactly two years ago that I decided to create this blog. I didn't intend it to be some professional, money making site that would attract millions of viewers. All I wanted was to create a space where I could dump my thoughts. Also, I secretly just wanted to create another website, because making websites is fun. I didn't even intend to make it otome-based, it was just a blog. A very personal blog.

Before this, I had owned about five blogs in the past. One I actually tried to make professional and cool, but I eventually gave up. It's really difficult to become popular using a blog in the age of Instagram and Snapchat. The other four blogs were just random thought dumps and just general space wasters.

Dance With Devils (The Anime) - A Review

Today I am very excited to review an anime that I've been watching this past week. I know, you may be thinking, "Misty, you don't even watch anime, and this is a blog for games!" but this series just happens to have an otome tied to it, making this post 100% thematically relevant to this site.

From the title, you'll know that today's review candidate is Dance With Devils. I didn't actually know too much about this series until a few weeks ago, when I stumbled across somebody's review of the Vita game. For those who are unaware, I'll give a quick little rundown of what it's all about, except the plot, of course. I'll be touching on that a little bit later.

Another Switch Otome Announced!

I don't usually blog about otome news, but this one was so exciting that I just had to talk about it. Plus, it's about a game I reviewed recently, so it makes sense to post about it, right?

Anyways, Voltage have announced that they're bringing Kissed by the Baddest Bidder to the Switch! Why did they have to say this days after I used my free coins to buy Soryu's route? I was planning to get more stories too, once I'd gotten enough coins....

I'm quite happy that Voltage are making some of their titles available on a console. It's just giving me another reason to want a Switch... I'm 99% sure that these ports won't have physical copies, but that's alright. I don't know exactly what stories are going to be included in this Switch KBTBB, but judging by Voltage's other releases, it'll probably be more than just the original main routes, giving us some of the extra stories too. These ports might actually be cheaper than paying for them in Love 365, too.

That's really all I had to say. I always have the urge to blog about new developments in the world of otome, like I did yesterday. But I'm happy that this port's going to happen. I might actually postpone getting anymore KBTBB routes in Love 365 just in case I get a Switch... (I feel like I might buy one for my birthday next year) This news probably means that none of the routes in the mobile version will be free for a short time again, but oh well. Maybe I'll check out some of the other Voltage otome instead...

This concludes my post for today. I know it's a very short post, especially for me, but there's not really much more to report on. Goodbye.

New Ikemen Vampire Boys

For about fifteen days now, there's been a video on Cybird's official YouTube channel showing artwork of the three new characters they'd announced. Even though it'll probably take an eternity for them to come to the English game, I just thought I'd share the video with you here. (Also, it's just fun to talk about otome news and stuff!)

In case you are unable to view the video due to data limitations and stuff, I have provided screenshots of the new characters down below. These have probably already been widely circulated around the web, but I don't care.

Kissed by the Baddest Bidder - Soryu's Route Review

I finally managed to save up enough Love 365 coins to buy a whole route, and instead of purchasing something different, I did what I always do: stick to what's familiar. And what story did I buy? Read the title, it says there.

Yes, I decided to read another Kissed by the Baddest Bidder route. This time, I decided to go for Soryu, only because he's my usual type, and I thought he looked hot. Actually, I think I wrote in my review of the last KBTBB review that I wanted to unlock his route eventually.

So, let's begin another review, shall we? It's been a while since I've reviewed a full route like this.

Spoiler alert: I really loved Soryu, and did not regret spending my coins on him whatsoever.

My Top Five Favourite Diabolik Lovers Songs

Hello, everybody! Today, I am going to be writing about Diabolik Lovers character songs. Oh dear, this sounds like an intro to a YouTube video, not a blog post. Anyway, I've been listening to them a lot lately, so it's made me want to blog about them. I suppose this'll be sort of like a review, except I'm not going to be covering every single song, because that'll take ages, and I haven't even listened to them all yet!

(I know I keep writing about this franchise, but honestly, I'm really obsessed with it, probably more than any other otome thing, so I always end up wanting to talk about it somewhere! Really, I know nothing about the series because I've only listened to a few of the CDs, played one game and watched the anime, but I don't really care. Anyway, I've been meaning to write this for about two weeks now, but I keep forgetting about doing it! )

Firstly, I'll just talk about the songs in general, then I'm going to list my top five favourites out of the lot. Hopefully, it won't read like a boring, uninspired WatchMojo video transcript. I don't really see much discussion about these songs online, so I wanted to create a little bit of documentation about them. Actually, about a day after I decided to make this post, I found that someone else had already made a post like this. Oops. I suppose you can't be original all the time.

I seem to be filling my posts with a lot of memes lately...

A Quick Update!

Anybody visiting this blog for the first time will just scroll through and see all of these mini-updates instead of actual posts.

I just wanted to check in and say hi, because I feel like I used to post a lot more often back in the summer. Just so you know, I am working on a post that should hopefully be of decent quality. Unfortunately, I don't have any console games to review, but there's a drama CD coming for me in the post that I'm definitely going to cover!

Also, I think this blog's second anniversary's going to be on the 29th, if I remember correctly. I'll have to prepare a deep, heartfelt thank you post for that.

I've been looking at my blog's stats, and it appears that people have been actually looking at my older posts. One of my IkeVamp posts has twenty views, whereas everything else has about two or three. I don't like looking at the stats, because it embarrasses me to know that people have read my stuff. I mean, I want people to look at it, but at the same time, I find all of my writing to be really cringeworthy sometimes. That is one of the reasons why I don't edit my stuff.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I have some interesting stuff planned. Really, whether it's interesting or not depends on your tastes, but whatever. I'm going to end this post now.

See you all in the next post!

National Boyfriend Day

Today is supposed to be National Boyfriend Day. I don't know what country celebrates it, but that doesn't really matter. What matters is that I only found out about it once the day was over!

I don't really have a real boyfriend to celebrate it with, but I still feel like I should've done something otome related. Or maybe I shouldn't have. It's not National 2D Boyfriend Day. Well, I suppose I did read stuff about otoge, and I did play a bit of Ikemen Sengoku. I also listened to some fairly romantic boy band songs, does that count? I did replay some Code: Realize yesterday too, and earlier this week I ordered a drama CD entirely with money earned through Swagbucks. I'm not going to tell you what CD it is yet, but there's a 99.99% chance that I'm going to review it.

I even planned to potentially write a proper post today, but that never happened. Oh well. Next year, I'll make sure to mark my calendar and do something to celebrate it. You have my word. (I'll probably forget all about it tomorrow though.)

I feel like I should attach an image here, but I don't know which one. A picture of two people snogging? An otome CG?

It's not really that much of a big issue if I miss this. After all, it is a "national" celebration, and it's probably not even celebrated where I live. Anyway, it's not like I've missed Halloween or Christmas or something.

Still, I do feel a bit disappointed. It's like in the Sims 4 where there's a special event but you don't bother with it, and you get a message saying "So-and-so is disappointed with <insert holiday name here>. They didn't get to partake in any of the usual traditions they enjoy."

At least it encouraged me to write this post.

Happy National Boyfriend Day, everybody, even if you didn't know it existed. There's always next year, or you could just celebrate whenever you want, really. Nobody's stopping you.

Doll Post No. 3: Another Photo Shoot...

Today I'm going to break up the otome posts with some more fashion doll stuff!

Earlier, I had another mini photo shoot out in the garden with some of my Barbies. There's not really any other interesting places in my house where I can photograph them. Well, I suppose I could go out in public, but people would probably look at me a bit funny.

All of these photos were taken with my iPhone SE. Yes, I know it doesn't have four powerful camera lenses like the latest iPhone, but the images still look fairly decent. I also made them look slightly better with Photoshop too.

Misty's Blog: The Epic Return - Coming Soon to Your Computer Screen! (I also became an otome news reporter halfway through the post)

Hello everybody! Did you miss me? I wasn't really gone for that long, was I?

I'm going to make a very important announcement, Misty's Blog will soon be back in business! But there will be a few changes!

This time, I will not force myself to post, like I did before. Also, those mobage review posts (the ones where it takes me ten posts to actually finish the route) will be gone. If I want to review a mobile game, I will be following a strict rule of making one post, and one post only. I'm also only going to post if I actually feel passionate about writing it. I'm not going to be like I was before, saying "I have to make this review today, or else!".

I don't know what I'm going to write about next. I was thinking of doing something on the many Diabolik Lovers character songs that exist. Currently, I'm working on three games. Ikemen Vampire (Arthur's route), Ikemen Revolution (I'm still on Jonah's route, but I don't plan on finishing my review series on it) and Ikemen Sengoku (Sasuke's route).

That new KFC dating sim game came out. I'm a bit curious of it, but I don't want to review it, because it's just going to give them more advertising exposure. (Really, I'm promoting it by just mentioning it!) Maybe I'll play Cinderella Phenomenon instead, because that sounds like a really good game.

You may be wondering how my life has been going since I've been gone. I don't really mention my life online, but I am doing fine, that's all that matters. Today I managed to claim an Amazon voucher with my Swagbucks, so I'm quite chuffed about that. It's not that much money, but I think I can buy a Diabolik Lovers CD with it. I'm tired of listening to the songs through YouTube.

I also just feel like talking about otome news right now, too. I'll be a news reporter for the remainder of this post.

...

I have a very massive announcement to make about this blog.

I'm going on a hiatus for a while. This means that I'm not going to finish writing about Ikemen Revolution. Don't worry, this blog is not dead! I just really need a break.

Before I used to blog whenever I felt it necessary, but now it feels like I'm forcing myself to write, and I'm getting burnt out by it. I'm just feeling less passionate about it, and I just dread writing my next post. I've been so obsessed with writing my thoughts, that I can't even play a game without thinking about my post on it and taking screenshots every second so that I can't remember the plot. It's not very fun, that's why I need to take a break.

My next posts will probably be on a proper paid console game, but I don't know when that'll be. I just need a break so that I can focus a bit on real life and have a rest from all of this stuff.

See you all soon, hopefully.

If this blog does end up dying, I'm going to be really annoyed with myself.

Regarding My Future Mobage Posts...

Hello, everybody!

I just wanted to make a very quick post regarding my Ikemen Revolution posts.

So... I'm having actual trouble getting into the game. It takes forever to load, and sometimes it'll give me a server error, and other times it'll get into the actual homepage of the game, then spend forever loading. This same problem happens with Ikemen Sengoku, and it even happened once with Love 365. Ikemen Vampire seems to be unaffected, however.

I've already missed one day of reading and grinding for Jonah's route, because of server errors and because it just takes so long to load. I believe that the problem's a combination of my Internet and because I think the game loads everything straight from Cybird's servers. My connection has been acting strange sometimes, occasionally not letting me use certain websites, so I don't know what's wrong with it. Maybe it's just tired of me because I watch so much YouTube or something.

You're probably just going to tell me to use my mobile data or something, but have you seen how much data I have? I have a 500MB limit, and plus I'd have to set up a hotspot from my iPhone to my iPod to actually use it. Yes, you read that correctly. 500MB. It's not that bad, because I don't use it anyway.

In the meantime, I suppose these IkeRev posts are either going to be non-existant or stop altogether. But I still have much more interesting stuff to cover on my blog! I've been lucky enough to be able to beta test a new Shall We Date? game, but I don't want to write about that until after it releases. All I can really say is that it's a very promising game. I've also been wanting to play Arthur's route in IkeVamp, and that seems to be the only Cybird game that seems to load fine, although it did take forever to do a love battle the other day.

So, yeah... I'm sorry about this. I think it might be time to get someone to check up on my broadband router!

See you all later then. I dunno what the next post's gonna be about, but it's probably not going to be Ikemen Revolution. It's a shame, because Jonah's route was getting so interesting!

The Official Misty's Blog Button!

Hello, everybody! I decided to make an advertising button for this blog, like I did with my main website.

Ignore the hideous white border around it. Blogger adds it by default, it won't show up on your own site.

You can use it if you want to ever link back to here on your own website. The button's on the sidebar too, if you're having difficulties finding it.

I put Yui in the corner of it because I think she's becoming the mascot of this blog. Also, I just really like her design, as I've said a billion times. (I should really stop repeating myself!)

That's all I have to say for today. Enjoy the button!

Ikemen Revolution Recap/Review No. 7

Hello, everybody. I'm back for another Ikemen Revolution post. I haven't actually read any of the story today because my Internet's acting up and none of my mobage games will load. Not even my Spotify on my phone, computer or iPod will load, but for some reason it's working on my Google Home. Not even my poor Last.fm scrobbler will load. I'm just glad that Blogger's working, for now. I don't know what's up with things today. All of this nonsense is probably just my imagination playing tricks on me.

Don't worry though, I still have the rest of the story to write about. I'm now realising how tiring it is writing billions of little posts for one route. I feel like I'm getting lazier and lazier with these...

Diabolik Lovers: MORE, BLOOD (The anime, not the game!): A Review

Guess who just finished binge-watching the entire second series of Diabolik Lovers all in one go? Me, of course! I think I liked this season even better than the last one, but that's probably because I've never played the game it was based on. When people watch adaptations without experiencing the source material, they tend to nitpick it less.

This is the second part of my DiaLovers anime review, you know, the one I did a few weeks ago? I'm not going to recount the plot like I normally do with my game reviews, I'm just going to write my thoughts on it like I did last time. Please keep in mind that I watched the Japanese dub, because I'm one of those people who can't stand English anime dubbing. Let's get started then, because I'm super excited to talk about this!

Oh, and guess what? I used my newly found Photoshop skills to make some of the GIFs in this post. I'm quite proud that I managed to do that. I always thought that Photoshop was some complex software, but it's actually very simple! Most of the GIFs are from the opening sequence though, because I just thought that there was some really good looking shots in there.

Like the first part of this post, it was written very late at night, so I apologise if there are any errors!

Ikemen Revolution Review/Recap No. 6 (With a bit of Ikemen Vampire thrown in too...)

Wow, today I achieved a lot in the world of Ikemen games. I finished Ieyasu's route, got a really nice gacha card in Ikemen Vampire, played a bit of the new event in said game, and read some very strange stuff in Ikemen Revolution.

So yes, let's get on with my next IkeRev post!

I don't have as much plot stuff to write about here, it's just that there's a few things I want to write about before I forget. But before I start, I'll show you this new gacha card I got in IkeVamp! It was so worth the 300 free diamonds I spent on getting it!

Ikemen Revoltuion Review/Recap No. 5

Hello everybody, and welcome back to another post where I gradually go through an Ikemen Revolution route! This time I'm super happy because I managed to have enough magic crystals for another premium story, plus, I actually got something good in the card gacha!

Ikemen Vampire Recap/Review No. 11: The Conclusion of Napoleon's Route

I did it. I finally completed it. Napoleon's route is over. I honestly thought that I still had at least three chapters left, but I only had two. Let's conclude my little recap series then, shall we? There's not really much more to write about.

Ikemen Revolution Review/Recap No. 4

Hello everybody, and welcome to another post on Ikemen Revolution. It's been a few days since I've last written anything, so my memory of the plot isn't going to be as good. Luckily I've taken lots of screenshots to help me remember everything!

I think I'm almost halfway through Jonah's route now. I predict that I'll be done by the end of the month, if the avatar challenges don't take me too long.

So, what has happened in the route since the last post? Read below to find out!

Friday, 30 August 2019

Ikemen Revolution Review/Recap No. 3

It's that time again, time for another Ikemen Revolution post. Not too much happened since I last wrote, but I wanted to make one more post before the weekend started. If you're wondering why I haven't written about Ikemen Vampire lately, it's because it's taking me forever to get enough gold to clear the avatar challenge! I can't even remember what's happening in the route because it's been so long.

This post doesn't really have as many screenshots as my last ones, because a lot of the time I'm too busy enjoying the game so I forget to take them.

Let's just get to the plot, shall we?

Kissed by the Baddest Bidder - Baba's Route Review

Hello, everybody, and welcome to my second post today! I feel like I've been turning into a blogging machine lately, churning out loads of content. That's not a bad thing though, because I absolutely love writing these reviews. I've been playing so many mobile games this summer too! Maybe I should remove the bit on the sidebar that says I "occasionally" play mobage, because I seem to be playing them a lot now.

This review is going to be on a Voltage route that's currently out for free right now. I've never actually played one of theirs all the way through before, so this was quite a new experience for me. The game is Kissed by the Baddest Bidder, one that I actually have a bit of history with.

Ikemen Revolution Review/Recap No. 2

Hello, everybody, and welcome to my second Ikemen Revolution post. I have taken so many screenshots of this game this time, so the post should look a lot more colourful than my other ones. I was going to write this post tomorrow instead since I had something else planned for today, but a lot of interesting things happened that I really wanted to write about. Actually, today I even had enough magic crystals to buy a Premium Story, so I'm quite excited to talk about it!

(If you're wondering what I had also planned to post today, I was going to play another mobile otome and review one of the free stories on Love 365. The only reason I'm not playing console games right now is because it costs loads of money to buy new ones, and I don't want to exhaust the Vita's otome library in less than a year!)

So, let's get to the plot, shall we?

We've Received Our First Comment!

Hello, everybody! I am so glad to announce that Misty's Blog has received its very first comment! I cannot believe that I didn't notice it earlier. I've had this place since 2017, so I'm glad that we've finally had somebody actually like it enough to comment on it.

Now, what is this comment, you may ask? Well, it was posted last month on my post titled "The Breaking of Misty's World". It was posted by a very nice person called "Anonymous". They said "I love this blog", which makes me feel very happy. Thank you very much! I don't know who you are, but thank you for actually commenting on my blog. I never noticed this earlier because I think I have the notifications turned off.

It's great that this blog is still going and that people are actually reading it. When I started this blog almost two years ago, I had intended it to be a simple dumping ground for random thoughts. I didn't expect it to last this long and to change into what it is today. Even though this place doesn't get as many visits as my regular website, I still prefer working on this one.

That comment has made my day. Thank you to everybody who reads this blog, even if you don't want to comment. It's great to know that a lot of random strangers from across the world like looking at my stuff. :)

Thank you, and see you all on my next post!

Ikemen Revolution Post No. 1: First Impressions

I know I said that I'd wait to complete Napoleon's route before starting Ikemen Revolution, but I couldn't wait. After leaving the app sitting on my home screen for ages, I finally began to play it. I am so, so, glad that I did, because this game is really, really good.

In this post, I'm going to go straight into giving my first impressions on the app as a whole, then I'll start getting into the actual route. Let's get to it then, shall we?

Ikemen Vampire "Discipline Between the Sheets" Event - A Review

After yesterday's brief post discussing two of Cybird's current events going on in their games, I thought that it would be nice to do a proper post on one of them, specifically Ikemen Vampire's "Discipline Between the Sheets" story event. I've never actually played through an event all the way through before, as I always couldn't be bothered to do all of the love battles and all that nonsense just for some short story. But I need more excuses to blog about things, so this event was the perfect opportunity for that.

Just keep in mind that I'm only reviewing Arthur's "route" for this post. I have no plans to go through any of the others. Anyway, Arthur's actual route's coming out soon, so I might as well write about him to hype up his release, even though I probably won't be playing it for a long time yet.

You know what, I only just realised that it's Arthur's face who is on the app icon. I always thought that it was Napoleon. The artwork is from his "Dripping Wet" gacha card, in case you were wondering.

I didn't try to be one of those people who ranks on this event, I actually have no idea how you do that, and because it looks like you have to spend actual money to get up on the charts. All of the people who rank really high have these avatars with loads of fancy clothes, so it's obvious they've spent a bit of dosh on the game. Personally, I don't think it's worth it, but those girls can do whatever they want with their money.

Ikemen Vampire Recap/Review No. 10

Well, we’ve finally reached the tenth post in this series! That’s a lot of writing I’ve been doing. Today I had planned to write something different instead, but I came across another Avatar Challenge in Napoleon’s route, so I just thought that I’d write about this today.

This is my first post made using Windows Live Writer. I used to use this on my old Wordpress blog, so I thought that I’d start using it again. Hopefully the formatting turns out alright.

Just a Quick Little Post About Otome Events...

I managed to get a new computer! I'm super happy I have one now. This one seems so high-tech compared to my old one, it has facial recognition and everything!

I thought I'd test out its blogging capabilities by writing a little post about some of the mobile otome events I've been playing lately. I've even attached a video of one down below!

Ikemen Vampire Recap/Review No. 9

Yay! My broken computer managed to connect to Blogger all by itself! Poor thing. Even though it's on its last legs, I'm still working it hard to try and get these blog posts out.

Today is time for another IkeVamp post. I've managed to read about two and a bit chapters since I last wrote, so that's enough for some discussion. I feel that if I had waited another day to write this, I would've forgotten everything that I've read.

Let's get to the plot!

Ikemen Vampire Recap/Review No. 8

Good afternoon, fellow blog viewers. Welcome to another Ikemen Vampire recap-review thing. I don’t really know what this type of post is called! If you have only just tuned in, these posts are just ongoing things where I discuss the plot of this game and give my thoughts on it.
I just have to mention something sort of important first. My laptop is now on its last legs, after almost five years of service. The screen is literally hanging by two wires, since the hinges are both broken. This affects the Wi-Fi antenna, because for some reason the manufacturers decided to place it in the most vulnerable part of the whole computer! So now my computer can barely get any Internet signal, and when it does, it loads like Dial-Up. This of course affects how I can edit my blog and website. The only other computery things I have are my Windows tablet and an old Netbook that doesn’t have any drivers installed since I re-installed Windows on it. I used to manage my old blog on my tablet, but I’d rather not do that again since I hate touch-screen keyboards. I could actually write a post on my Xbox One, but I can’t find my USB keyboard anywhere.

Just because my computer’s about to bite the dust, it doesn’t mean that this blog will! Bubbles (yes, I gave my PC a name) actually still works fine apart from those two major issues. So I’m writing this post on Microsoft Word right now, and then I’m gonna wait for it to get a connection and then paste it onto my blog. I’m either going to get this thing fixed, or buy a new computer. I won’t let this kill my blogging speed though, don’t worry! Just expect a few less posts than usual. If you notice any formatting errors of any kind, blame the transition from Word to Blogger for that.

OK, now that we’ve gotten the serious stuff out of the way, let’s get to the discussion!

The Diabolik Lovers Anime: A Review/Ramble

Hello. I've literally just finished binge-watching the first season of the Diabolik Lovers anime. I never really thought that I could binge TV programmes like this, but I suppose that it has to be something that I really enjoy, like this series.

Instead of just watching the show like a normal person would, I wrote a few notes down in order to write a review for this blog. I know I usually tackle otome games, but this is otome-related, so it still belongs here, right?

So sit back and relax as you read my very long ramble about the Diabolik Lovers anime! Beware of spoilers for the anime and the games down below!

An English Patch of Diabolik Lovers Is Out!

I don't usually post otome news and that, but an English patch of Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal (the PS Vita version only) has just been released. So many wonderful people worked so hard on this, translating and proofreading it for everybody. I actually did a bit of proofreading myself for it, so if you recognise a bit of my writing style anywhere, that's probably why.

You have to buy the game first, of course, then download the patch. So far, ten people have already done so! Please note: you have to hack your Vita first, otherwise none of this patching would be possible.

I'm glad something like this exists. It would've helped me a lot when I played it a few months ago! Diabolik Lovers is one of those really popular franchises that everybody wants to play but can't because of the language level, so I'm glad that people will finally be able to experience it for themselves instead of reading route summaries. Maybe if loads of people buy the game after this, it'll convince Rejet to finally localise it themselves?

Anyway, you can find details on the patch by clicking here. If you scroll down a bit and look for a "strangepigeon6" in the credits, that's me! I wish that I could've done more proofreading, but I went on holiday and was unable to do it. I can't remember all of what I proofread, but I remember doing something from every route. My favourite bits I did were the chapters from Subaru's route, and Kanato's first ending. That ending I thought was amazing when I first played it.

I hope you all enjoy the patch! I'm quite happy that otome games are popular enough that cool stuff like this can happen. I feel quite proud to be a part of something like this.

That concludes my post for today. Have a nice day!

:)

Apple and Ashlynn's Photo Shoot

To break up the seemingly endless stream of Ikemen Vampire posts, I came up with a solution: doll pictures. That's right. Specifically pictures of my girls Apple White and Ashlynn Ella. They recently just came back from a boil wash, so I wanted to show off their magnificent hair.

Out of the many pictures I took, only a few of them were good enough for this blog.

Ever After High dolls are so photogenic, aren't they?

Ikemen Vampire Recap/Review No. 7: MC Does Something a Bit Stupid

I've reached another avatar challenge, so I thought that it would be the perfect time to write another post about Ikemen Vampire and Napoleon's route.

Finally, I've found a decent title for this series of posts. It's better than just "Another IkeVamp Post" or "I Don't Know What To Call This Post" one billion times, isn't it?

Let's get straight to recapping and discussing the plot, shall we?

Another Ikemen Vampire Post - With a Very Original Title

I'm back again, with another sort of review/discussion/opinion piece on Ikemen Vampire! If you were wondering why it had been so long, blame the silly old avatar checks. I can't be asked to turn my iPod on every few hours to do the battles again, so it takes me a long time to complete them. I had sort of pushed Napoleon and his route to the back of my mind, because I was replaying a lot of my other otome games instead.

I've only managed to read a chapter and two fifths since I last wrote, but who cares! I couldn't even tell you what chapter it was, but it's the one with the third CG in it.

OK, let's get to the plot, shall we? Beware of spoilers down below!

An All New Blog Theme - Coming Soon to Your Computer Screen!

I have recently learned how to make basic blinkies and website buttons using Photoshop. Since I can do that, it shouldn't be hard to create a fancy title image for this blog, should it? That's why I am pleased to announce that soon - very soon - I will be changing this blog's theme completely, and the boring old title at the top will look 1000% percent cooler.

I've noticed that most otome blogs have a CG or something behind their title, so I'm probably going to do something like that. I've been obsessed with Yui Komori's design lately (I've been making loads of blinkies of her which nobody is going to ever use!) so I might use her. Expect a theme full of pink then!

I should really get on with making that header/title/whatever image now, so see you all later!

UPDATE: The theme's here now, and actually it looks quite good! I've still stuck to the bog-standard "simple" theme, but the colours and especially the header all actually look decent now. Yay, my blog finally looks proper!

Ikemen Vampire Update No. 5?

Here I am, back again with another Ikemen Vampire post!

A lot of things have happened, some that I cannot entirely remember, but I'll try to recap as much as I can. I tried to save some of the free chapter tickets for later, but they reset everyday so I ended up wasting them. Oh well. I suppose I learned from that mistake to use all of the tickets up the day you get them!

Doll Post No.1: Barbie Fairytopia Mermaidia Elina

Oh dear, that is one long title.

Sorry to all of you who only care about otome games, this blog is turning into a doll and otome blog! I could've written about dolls before, but I've only just got mine out of storage. They've all been boxed up for a year now... :(

Today, I wanted to talk about a doll of mine that I've had for years, meaning that she is very well played with.

And who is that lucky lady, you ask? Read the title! For those of you who don't want to read that, it's my Fairytopia Mermaidia Elina doll. I do have another Mermadia doll, but I'll save her for another post. I do apologise if the pictures in this "review" are rubbish. I probably took them a bit too quickly, because I was very eager to write this post.

Another Ikemen Vampire Post (I couldn't think of a better title, sorry)

This post is probably quite short, but that's only because I've reached one of them "intimacy checks" that I currently am unable to pass, so I'm just gonna write what's happened so far so I don't forget.

Ikemen Vampire Post, No. 3

I have no idea how I've managed to log onto Ikemen Vampire every single day since starting my first route. I'm impressed at my level of dedication.

I'd like to welcome you all to another post where I spill my thoughts on the game and the routes and all that nonsense.

I Fixed It.

Misty's World broke, but I managed to fix it in about two days. I thought it would take longer than that. The only place it's still wonky at is on my PC, because for some reason Chrome remembers how the old CSS style sheet worked and isn't replacing it with the new one.

I just wanted to write here that everything's alright again, and that Misty's World 3.5 is here!!

The Breaking of Misty's World

Hello, people who were redirected here from my website.

You may want to know what went wrong with it, right?

Well, lucky for you, I'm going to answer that right here!

Basically, what happened was that I was creating this new website, and I was trying to figure out how to make it so that the page resizes to look decent everywhere, no matter how small the screen size is. Then I went to look at Misty's World. I resized the browser screen, and the site twisted into this hideous mess.

So I tried to find a solution, and I think I edited the code and turned everything into even more of a hideous mess. It was like midnight or something, and I can't remember what I changed.

In order to fix this issue, I've put Misty's World on a temporary hiatus, whilst I completely rework the site again, even though I literally did it like a month ago.

I suppose that in the meantime, people can just enjoy my blog. Nobody looks at it normally, so this'll be a good time to get some traffic on it.

I'm going to go back to remaking my site now. Have a nice day.

My Child is Online!

I didn't really have a child, don't worry, but this project I've been working on is basically like a child to me. If you've been reading my previous posts, you may have heard about this Period Cube fansite I've been working on recently. After spending many, many hours on it, it's finally online.

I had been planning to upload it to Neocities from the start, but then when I went to put everything on there, it told me I couldn't upload my custom font unless I paid, which I completely understand. It was hard breaking up with the font, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. It was only used on the navigation bar and the title. Plus, I can't really complain because Neocities is such a great service.

The site doesn't really have too much on it to be honest, but I just wanted to be the one to make a fansite for an otome that isn't really too popular in the West. It was never my favourite game, but I had so much fun reviewing it that I wanted to make something for it. Also, I just needed an excuse to make another website. It's fun making something for a franchise so niche and unknown!

I'm typing this so fast, there's going to be loads of errors. Oh well.

If you want to check out the site, click here!

That's me done blogging for today. All I wanted to do was advertise this new site. See you all later!

Another IkeVamp Post

I felt like writing something today, so I just decided to do another post on Ikemen Vampire, because why not?

(Oh yeah, there's spoilers down below, so watch out for them!)

New Otome Localisations!

This is sort of old news now, but if you didn't already know, Aksys are localising some Otomate games for the Nintendo Switch! Yes, you read that correctly. There are quite a few of them coming too! Hopefully they should be released next year, if things go alright.

Ikemen Vampire - Initial Impressions

I'm back, back from a very relaxing holiday. A lot of otome stuff was announced whilst I was gone, stuff that I want to write about soon. But first, I want to talk about a Cybird game that was released in English the other day. That game is Ikemen Vampire.

Misty's World 3.0 is Finally Here!

If you were following my site last year, you may remember that around the time that it turned a year old, I completely and utterly revamped it to use a bit more CSS. At the time I thought that it used loads of CSS, but really it didn't use that much of it.

Misty's World is almost two years old now, so after being inspired by other people's sites with more fancy Cascading Style Sheets, I decided to revamp the site all over again. It's here, if you want to see the new design. I know, it doesn't look perfect, but I'm really bad with CSS so it's all I could do. Actually, I'm just realising that it looks a lot closer to how this blog looks now.

I literally deleted every old file from my site (Don't worry, I backed it up beforehand!), but my laptop's wireless signal thing was messing up again, and the Internet went off halfway through. It's really annoying because Neocities has a weird file management system, meaning that you have to delete each file one by one, not all at once. It is quite annoying.

Eventually, I managed to delete everything and upload all of the new stuff. There were a few errors, but they should all be fixed by now, except for one major, major error. I dunno if this is just my computer (I just partitioned my PC's hard drive and installed Windows 7 because it's way faster, I'm using that now and my trackpad driver isn't installed properly because it crashes a lot so that may be the issue) but on Chrome the left navigation bar doesn't work. The hyperlinks just won't click. It's weird because when I tried it with an old version of Internet Explorer, it worked fine. Hopefully other Chrome users won't have the same problem as I. It's annoying, why did it have to happen with such a popular browser?

I know this blog hasn't had a proper post in a while. I don't think I'm going to make a post on the Japan exclusive Hakuoki fan-disc I'm playing, because it's super hard to understand. I do get the basic plot of it, but it's harder for me to write about games in another language. I've been taking it super slow, even though it's quite a short game, it's been taking me ages for some reason. I dunno what I'm gonna be playing after that, so there may be a post drought for quite a while.

I'm going to start blogging about my doll collection soon, so there's that to look forward to. I know this is an otome blog, but originally it was a blog of all trades, with posts about anything, so it doesn't matter if I write about something different.

I should stop writing now, because that's all I have to say. See you all later!

Collar X Malice is Getting an Anime??

Even though I completed the game months ago, I've still managed to write two Collar X Malice posts in a row...

Recently at the 2019 Otomate Party, (I think it's this event where they announce new games and get voice actors doing stuff and all that) they announced that Collar X Malice was going to get an anime adaptation! It's also getting another stage play and a Switch port, so I suppose that's great too.

I don't really watch anime anymore, but I'm actually quite interested in this. It'll be a bit strange to see Ichika animated and having a voice, because when I played the game I just used her as a blank slate for my self-insertion fantasies... I always thought that she would have a mature, deeper voice, but she's probably going to sound like a normal high-pitched anime girl.

The story will probably follow Yanagi's route since it's supposed to be the canon story, but they might just make it so that Ichika ends up with nobody so that the viewer can choose her love interest by purchasing the game or something. They might add in extra fluffy scenes and new content too!

It's going to be great to see all of my favourite love interests animated! I just hope that the art actually looks decent, because the other two otome anime adaptations I know, the Code: Realize and Diabolik Lovers series, I really can't stand the character designs there. It's a shame because the game CGs were really pretty.

There may be a chance of this eventually getting an English dub, since the game got localised over to the West. I don't like English versions of anime though because they always give the characters these generic American accents. When I read the game without sound, I automatically made everybody talk like bog standard British people because that's where I'm from, so it might sound a bit odd hearing them speak like they're from across the pond. I feel like this kind of series would be well received amongst Western anime fans, and it might make them want to buy the game. Maybe that means the Switch version will get brought over too? The fan-disc is built into that port, so it would be awesome if we got that over here! The only problem is, I don't have a Nintendo Switch, and I probably won't have one for a very long time...

Since the only game I'm playing right now is one I can barely understand, I decided to comment on some otome news just so that this blog has less of a content drought. I dunno if I'll be buying any more Vita stuff for a while because I've already gotten loads of games in the span of five months, I need to pace myself a bit. Not that I got them with my own money, I got them all using Amazon vouchers I got as Christmas and birthday gifts!

I need to go to bed now, so I'll say goodbye. See you all later!

Collar X Malice's Bad Endings

Please Note: This post isn't going to be as detailed as my Period Cube bad ending posts. I originally wasn't going to make a post on this, but I'm bored so I just want to type down some quick general thoughts. Also, there's going to be no screenshots here, sorry.

................................................................................................................................................................

About two months after completing Collar X Malice, I decided to go back to collect some bad endings, and of course, the trophies that you get awarded upon finding them. Even though to get a platinum trophy you have to first collect every single ending the game has to offer, I couldn't be bothered to do that, so I only went for the endings that have CGs, the Tragic Love endings. That meant that afterwards, I got some cute completion CGs! I had seen these floating around the Web before, but I thought that they were from the fan-disc. In the past, I had gotten some bad endings, but none of them had CGs, except one that I exited out of to correct my mistakes before I could get to the image.

(BEWARE OF SPOILERS DOWN BELOW!)

A Journey Through Period Cube's Bad Endings: Part Three

This will be my final post on Period Cube, unless a fan-disc ever comes out and I review that. Like the title says, I'll be going through the last two bad endings I have and basically just writing my thoughts on them.

Let's get started, shall we?

(Oh yeah, beware of spoilers down below!)

My Last Period Cube Review

Previously on Misty's Blog: I completed all of the Period Cube routes required and wrote long reviews on them. Eventually, I managed to unlock the final one, Poyo-Poyo's. Will this one be better, worse, or as good as the other ones? Read the review below to find out, and like always, beware of spoilers!

A Rubbish Review of Hiroya's Route

Previously on Misty's Blog: I went through two more Period Cube bad endings, and they weren't as interesting for me as the ones I had done first! At that point, I had only two more routes to go, Poyo-Poyo and Hiroya's. I was actually quite excited to play both of them, and not because it meant that the game would be over.

.............................................................................................................................................................

I finished Hiroya's route, but I fear that my memory of the plot is going to be as bad as it was in the last review I wrote. Ouch, my cat just bit my arm whilst I wrote that. So, let's get into the review before I forget everything, shall we?

(Don't forget to watch out for spoilers!)

A Journey Through Period Cube's Bad Endings: Part Two

I'm back on my journey through Period Cube's interesting bad endings! This time I'll be reviewing Libera and Zain's endings only!

I don't really know what else to say before I start, except to beware of spoilers!

Zain's Route: A Crappy Summary/Review

Previously on Misty's Blog: I played about four Period Cube routes. That was all I did. Oh yeah, I also did some bad endings too. Now, as you all expected me to, I started my fifth route.

...................................................................................................................................................................

Hello, everybody! I've just come back from finishing Zain's route. It was... interesting, I suppose. I started it on Friday and then took a break from it for most of the weekend, so the first few chapters aren't that fresh in my mind anymore! The route summary I wrote down turned out to be a bit jumbled up and out of order because of this. Also, if there's a bit of a disconnect with the screenshots and what's written, it's because I'm writing the post first because I can't plug my PS Vita into my PC at the moment, and then adding the images later. Sorry about that.

Don't forget to beware of spoilers!

This Could've Been Better, I Suppose...

Previously on Misty's Blog: I completed my third Period Cube route, Libera's, having very strong opinions about it. Next, I decided to make our MC fall in love with a very trashy angel boy with absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It sounded like fun, because I usually quite enjoy characters like that...

..............................................................................................................................................................

Yes, I decided to do Demento's route.  I had heard some very bad things about him in the past, so naturally, that made me very excited. But it was so short, it only took me around an hour to finish it! It feels like he was never meant to be a proper LI in the first place and was just added in as a hidden extra route just because. Oh yeah, I also somehow got the bad ending even though I tried really hard to get affection points for him. There was one time where I didn't get any and I thought that it wouldn't matter, so I didn't bother correcting them or nothing. I'm going to be writing about both endings in this post instead of saving the other one for my bad ending reviews. It's just so that I don't forget what happens by the time I go to write it.

So, are you ready for the insanity that is this route?

(Oh yeah, there's spoilers down below so don't look if you care about that stuff!)

Libera's Route: A Very Long Review

Previously on Misty's Blog: I made my way through two of Period Cube's bad endings and discovered that they were actually quite a bit more interesting than the happy ones. Then I began the common route again and landed on Libera's route. I had absolutely no excitement for it whatsoever, but could it turn out to be actually interesting?

Read below to find out, and beware of spoilers!

A Journey Through Period Cube's Bad Endings: Part One

Yes, I know I literally wrote my last post an hour ago, but there was something really cool I wanted to write about!

This is technically a companion piece to my other three Period Cube posts, so if you haven't read them or played the game yet, I would highly recommend that you do!

I decided to go through the "Merry Bad Endings" for the two routes that I've already completed, because they come with CGs and trophies! They were both a lot longer than I thought, and a lot more complex than the simple "you made one wrong choice so now you're dead" endings. I wrote "Part 1" in the title for this post, because I'm planning to go through all the other endings like these later on. I used this walkthrough for these, in case you were wondering. Each one requires low affection to land on and they branch off from the normal story at Quest 7.

So, what did I think about them? Scroll down below to find out, and beware of spoilers!!

This Review is Very Long....

Previously on Misty's Blog: I pulled out my PlayStation Vita again and started to play a very interesting otome game called Period Cube. After breezing through the common route, I some how managed to land on a route by only making three choices! After completing the first route (review can be found here), I went back to the common route. Guided by the "skip to next choice" feature, I made some random dialogue choices until landing on the route of another attractive love interest...

Now, after spending a few days completing it, it's time for the final review. Beware of spoilers!

A Reflection on This Blog

This is not a proper post or anything. I feel like reading some of my older posts even though whenever I read them I have to correct a lot of accidental errors (I don't edit because it's embarrassing reading my stuff), but it's really fun to see what my opinions were on certain games and that at the beginning and how they changed.

It's funny, I started this blog just to randomly ramble on about stuff, but then I started playing Hakuoki and Mystic Messenger and writing about it. At first, if you look at my original posts on Hakuoki, I'd just lightly touch on the plot but not really talk about things at all (I think I was scared of getting details wrong) and I'm pretty sure I spelt Shinsengumi wrong each time! Then I got my Vita and started playing Code: Realize and I still didn't really talk much about the plot, but then when I started Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly (still probably my favourite game) I went a bit deeper in, and then eventually a few games later, I was almost into proper review territory. Now I try to make at least one post fully discussing a route, one on my initial opinions on a game and then sometimes I final opinion post. It's nice looking at how my writing and my plot analysis skills have gotten better over these past few months.

I think I might write proper posts on Hakuoki if I get the new remastered Vita games. I am playing the fan-disc next but it's all in Japanese so I dunno how much I'll be able to say about it since I'm having trouble finding a complete English summary (nobody translated the fan-disc because it got incorporated into localised versions of the original game anyway).

I keep thinking that the current theme of this blog might look like an absolute eyesore to outside viewers with the white text, bright colours and moving background, but I like it so I just keep it anyway. Just so you all know, I understand if this blog is unreadable because of the theme. I'm still not gonna change it yet though, sorry. (I now realise that this has become more of a blog for myself rather than anybody else, sometimes I've even considered making it private)

Even though nobody reads this blog, I've got to say that I've had a blast writing about my otome journey these past few months. It's probably helped my writing skills quite a bit, and it's just nice to have something like a diary to pour my thoughts into. It's funny, when I started this blog in 2017, I used this tag on my posts that said "this blog is probably gonna die anyway" and look where we are now, in 2019! I don't think this blog is dying anytime soon, unless Blogger gets killed by Google (which I am scared of because they just culled Google +), but then I'll just move to Wordpress so everything will be fine again.

If you're reading this, thank you. :) Even if you dislike my blog and want it deleted forever, it's nice to know that someone, somewhere, read this post.

Goodnight and goodbye!

EDIT: I'm just reading this post and it's hilarious. It's like looking at a younger version of myself even though the post was only made last year. Just the title of the post alone is funny really.

Hmmm.....

Well, I just finished my first Period Cube route. It was good, but I feel like it was too short. I'm not really sure if that's criticism or a compliment. I did read before going into this game that it each route doesn't take long to complete, so maybe I wouldn't be feeling this way if I hadn't have heard that first.

What If Sword Art Online Was an Otome Game?

I know I promised in the last post to write my final thoughts on Diabolik Lovers once I had completed it, but I really can't be bothered. I really enjoyed the game, but it feels like I've been playing it for years so I'd really like to move on now.

Today I started Period Cube. It's basically almost exactly the same as Sword Art Online, but instead of having big breasted anime girls as characters, there's just a lot of bishounen instead. Even though it sometimes seems a little bit too similar to SAO, I'm actually really enjoying it.

I'm actually halfway through a route even though I only started to play it today. It's probably because I was playing it without the sound in public most of the time and because the common route is super short, probably the shortest I've ever seen. I'm a bit sad that I've missed out on some of the voice acting (I hardly actually know what my chosen love interest's voice sounds like!) but it's like that with other games, I can't listen to the voice acting 100% of the time, because I don't like carrying headphones around. If the game's completely in Japanese though, I'll bring my Earpods and listen to the voices because it helps me understand it better.

Period Cube just happens to be based off of a drama CD series that I haven't listened to. I think that I might be tempted to try them out, maybe on YouTube or I could just buy them. I dunno if there's a fan-translation for it though, so I might not be willing to spend money on them until my Japanese improves.

Anyways, since I've played enough of this game now to form a basic opinion on it, what do I think so far?

Keep in mind that as usual, this post is just going to be a random dump of thoughts.

(Beware of spoilers!)

:)

I haven't posted in a while, have I? It's because I've been busy completing Diabolik Lovers and I thought I'd finish the last two routes until I wrote another blog post. But I haven't finished yet, I'm almost there though.

Prepare for a massive dump of thoughts on Kanato's route, plus Laito's, even though I haven't really finished it yet.

(I dunno how much I'm gonna be able to write because I haven't played it since this morning, it's not that fresh in my mind now...)

Avengers: Endgame - My Thoughts

Yesterday I sat in the cinema for three hours, watching the new Avengers film. It was really good. I wasn't hyping it up as much as I did Infinity War last year (I had other things on my mind), so I forgot to buy tickets in advance. They all got booked up where I lived the day they became available! Luckily I managed to book one singular seat in 3D for last night, which was great because I was thinking that I was going to have to wait a week to see it, and get spoiled in the meantime.

I've been thinking about this film a lot since I watched it, so I thought I'd sit down and spill them all on this page. It'll be a bit like my otome "reviews", where they aren't really proper reviews, just a list of my opinions on the game. There's gonna be so many spoilers down below, so if you haven't already seen the film, please don't read this! You have been warned. There's so much to talk about so I'm probably going to forget a lot of it, but it doesn't matter.

:3

Hello, everybody! I've been super busy this week so I had forgotten about this blog until now! Again, it is time for my regular update on whatever otome game I'm playing!!

Yes, I'm still playing Diabolik Lovers. But I'm almost done. I'm enjoying this game but I really want to play my next because it's on my Vita and I miss it. The screen and buttons feel so much nicer than the PSP's. Not that I dislike the PSP, it just feels old now that I have something better to compare it with.

Anyways, I finished Reiji's route today, meaning that I have two more routes to go. I suppose I'll just write some of my thoughts on it down below!

(Beware of spoilers!)

Thursday, 18 April 2019

Hello.

It's been a long time since I've posted, hasn't it? Well not really, it's only been four days. Still, it seems like a while to me. But I decided to actually finish playing a route before I blog about it. I just realised that for some person who doesn't read this blog regularly (meaning anyone who isn't me) would have no idea what the hell I'm talking about right now if I don't actually mention the game I'm playing before writing about it. In 90% of my posts I just go straight into things without actually mentioning the name of the otome at all.

So, if you didn't already know, I've been playing Diabolik Lovers on my PSP using my poor Japanese skills, translated summaries and walkthroughs to actually get through it. Today I just finished Subaru's route, so I suppose I'll give my thoughts on that now because I'll be too busy later.

Beware of spoilers down below!!!

....

I haven't posted very often this week, have I? This Diabolik Lovers game is a lot harder to write about than the other otomes I've played, because it's not in my first language and because there's a lot less plot. It seems that I've been going through this game quite slowly, even though it seems like it wouldn't take that long to get through.

I think I'm going to be posting a lot less on this blog whilst I'm playing this game, because when I play I keep thinking about what I'm gonna write, and since there's not that much to report on really, I should just relax and not worry about this site.

Actually I almost wasn't able to Haunted Dark Bridal at all, because my cheap third party PSP charger literally broke in half yesterday. I'm not joking. I am so glad that my local second hand video game shop sells them, because otherwise I'd have to wait ages to get one off Amazon or something.

My old charger was one of those universal chargers, it can charge multiple consoles but not all at once. I only brought it because it was the only one they had, and the person who gave me the PSP didn't have the original power cable or nothing. Earlier yesterday it strangely stopped working, I thought it was my console's fault at first, and after troubleshooting it for a while with no results, the bit in the middle of the lead where the multiple charging cable types connected to the actual power wire just pulled apart. I have no idea why, but it was a cheap third party charger so it probably wasn't built very well.

This new charger I got is made by the same company unfortunately (it was the only type I could get!) but this time it's not a universal one, it's actually designed for the PSP and has an actual power brick instead of it being just a simple USB cable like before. Let's hope that it doesn't meet the same fate as the last one...

I was chuffed that I could complete Diabolik Lovers without having to order a charger online and waiting ages for it to come. Today I managed to complete Shu's route, but I haven't finished reading what happened in English yet. I can't be bothered yet, plus I kind of understand the main plot of it anyway to be honest.

Oh yeah, there's loads of spoilers down below.

I Can't Think of A Title For This

Hello, and welcome to another post about Diabolik Lovers! I'm super happy because my PSP didn't die on me today, but that's probably because I played it less. But I started a new route today, so that's also good!

I did start playing Ayato's Heaven scenario but it wouldn't let me get past the first episode, I think that maybe it's because I didn't get enough affection points, because at the beginning of the game I didn't use a walkthrough and I think I got two choices wrong... :( But then I also think that the other two chapters are probably only unlocked if you get the other two endings. I don't know and I haven't find anything in English yet that explains it.

Like I said I was going to do in the last post, I chose my next route by random. I didn't do the common prologue at all, I just opened my previous save file and started my next route from the chapter selection menu. It said online that each prologue is really the same except for slightly different text depending on what character you picked, so I didn't miss out on much. I picked the route by closing my eyes and clicking the D-pad multiple times until I stopped and looked to see who I got. And who did I get, you ask? I landed on Shu's route, which is great because I actually wanted to get his anyway.

I Finished My First Route.....

I finished Ayato's route finally, except the extra Heaven scenarios, but those don't count. This entire route was just what I wanted really, and even though I didn't understand like 70% of it until I read the English summaries, I still really enjoyed it.

I would've finished it quicker if my PSP didn't die on me a few times. The battery seems way worse than when it was when I played Hakuoki. It barely lasts a day now, when the battery's only a few months old! Last year it would last more than two days. That's what you get when you purchase third party batteries... Oh well, at least if the battery goes, I think the PSP can still run on AC power, so that's alright.

Anyways, let's talk about the game, shall we? Beware of spoilers down below!

This Game is.... Interesting......

I have been continuing my journey through the very strange but also quite good game Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal. A minute ago I just finished reading the first main chunk of Ayato's route. It's been quite... interesting so far, but I've been enjoying it.

BEWARE OF SPOILERS DOWN BELOW, although not much has happened yet, so you should be alright if you've never played it before.

I'm Finally Playing Diabolik Lovers!!!

Well, I finally started playing it. The otome game I've wanted to experience for so long, Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal. Even though my Japanese absolutely sucks, I'm not going to let the language barrier stop me from enjoying my abusive vampire boys.

And it's amazing so far. Right now I would still be playing it if my PSP didn't die on me. So I decided to write my initial thoughts on it instead, and share a little bit of info on how I manage to get through it with my bad Japanese skills. Hopefully some of it might help someone else if they feel like playing it without knowing the language that well.

Enjoy a random dump of my thoughts down below! Beware of spoilers though!

Collar X Malice: Final Thoughts!

Well, it took way longer than I thought, but I can now say that I've completed Collar X Malice. There is an extra chapter in the common route that I unlocked that I haven't actually finished yet, but I've still completed all of the routes and stuff.

There are spoilers down below, as usual.......

Thursday, 4 April 2019

Almost Finished...

I almost finished Yanagi's route today, but I didn't because his route has an extra chapter over the others, meaning that it's going to take me longer to complete. I was going to wait until I had completed it but I was scared that my brain would forget stuff if I waited an extra day between writing. So here it is, what will probably be my second last post on Collar X Malice.

Beware of spoilers!!!

Shiraishi's Route: Final Thoughts

Well, hello again. I didn't really post on here over the weekend because there wasn't really anything to write about because I hardly went on my Vita at all. I decided to wait until I had finished Shiraishi's route until uploading anything else. And today I ended up completing said route, so I'm going to release my final thoughts on it to the world. Beware of spoilers!

Only Two Routes Left Now...

Hello, and welcome to yet another post on Collar X Malice. Today I started Shiraishi's route, and it's been, uh, quite interesting so far. This time I took a few screenshots so the post will look less boring! I really could be doing anything else on a Friday night but I really wanted to get this post out before I forgot about half the route. Right now I'm probably on chapter two of this route, so not too much has happened yet. But still, I'm about to be discussing spoilers and stuff, so be warned!

Enomoto's Route: Final Thoughts

(I've gone back to giving my posts regular titles now.)

Today I sat down with my cat and completed Enomoto's route. Of course I enjoyed it. This game hasn't really disappointed me yet, and that's good because I had super high expectations for it. Luckily I managed to get the good ending without issues, even though I was getting worried that I might've messed up some of the choices.

I'm just going to leak out all of my thoughts on it down here. Unfortunately I didn't bother to take any screenshots so there's not going to be any images below. Sorry. Also beware of spoilers.

Collar X Malice #6 (I still can't think of a more creative title...)

I'm back at it again with another Collar X Malice post. There was going to be more of these anyway, unless my Vita blew up and I couldn't play no more. I always seem to write these posts at the worst times, when I'm tired and I can't remember much of the plot, but I still continue to produce them in this state everyday.

Today I played through about two chapters of Enomoto's route, but about 70% it was without sound so I didn't get to hear any of the voices. My trophy completion is currently at about 30%, which is more than what I had after finishing every single route in Amnesia: Memories.

(There's spoilers below, by the way.)

Collar X Malice Post #5 (I can't think of a better title, sorry)

I didn't get to write any blog posts or play on my Vita very much over the weekend, but I suppose it's nice to have a break from my regular activities. Over these past few months I've gradually gotten more serious about writing on this blog, although I still won't bother to write anything like a professional blog post, because I want this place to stay 100% casual.

Now I've got to get on with writing more about my adventures with what is turning into one of my favourite otome games: Collar X Malice. But you knew I was going to write about that because you read the title. After getting two bad endings I eventually got Sasazuka's good ending today. His route wasn't easy like Okazaki's, I had to actually use a walkthrough because I always do after getting bad endings; I'm just too lazy to figure out how I went wrong. Since I played this route over many days, the plot isn't as clear in my head anymore, like I state in almost every post now, because I'm scared people'll expect me to remember every single detail of the plot.

As always, there's spoilers down below, so beware. I don't want to be accused of ruining surprises for people.

A quick note: I promised to include more screenshots in my future posts but I only took two rubbish screenshots this time round. Sorry.

Oh dear, my laptop just died whilst typing the last sentence, even though the battery was still really high. Oh well, let's just get on with the post, shall we? I feel like I will have forgotten most of what I wanted to write, but I'm going to try to let my thoughts out anyway.

Sasazuka's Route: First Impressions

Hello again. Here is another one of my many posts on Collar X Malice. I seem to be writing a lot more about this game than any other. Yesterday I started my second route, Sasazuka's, but I didn't get past the first chapter until today. I played it so much earlier, I couldn't even stop because it was so good. But then my Vita almost died and I had to do other stuff, so I haven't actually touched it since lunch time. I think I'm somewhere in the third chapter now.

I have a lot of things to write concerning Sasazuka and his route. Let's just say that I completely understand now why so many people like him. Beware of the heavy spoilers down below! Also, I'm going to start adding more screenshots to my posts now, because endless walls of text are boring.

Sometimes I think that these posts look really bad because I end up repeating the love interest's name  about a billion times because I dunno what else to call them. It looks like that here, so I'll apologise in advance. To make it seem less bad I'm going to alternate between using their first and last names.

I've Finished My First Collar X Malice Route!

It took me around three days, but I've finished Okazaki's route! There was so much going on since I last wrote about it that I can't remember it all, so I'm just going to write about the stuff that stuck out to me like I normally do. There's going to be lots of spoilers down below, as usual.

Diabolik Lovers Drama CD Volume 2: My Thoughts

Yes, I know, another post on those silly vampire CDs. But they're really really good!

This time I listened to Subaru's CD, which was about twenty minutes longer than Ayato's. You would've thought that they would all last for the same amount of time. Like the other one, I sat down and listened to it without any translations, then I read that afterwards to see how much I understood. I thought that Subaru would be nicer than the rest of them, but I was wrong. He's just as bad as the others, if not worse at times. But of course, I still enjoyed it.

Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal Drama CD Volume 1: My Thoughts

I went on Amazon the other day, and purchased two Diabolik Lovers drama CDs for a really cheap price, as well as the first game for the PSP. Even though you can just listen to the CDs on YouTube, I wanted to support the company by actually paying for it. Except I technically haven't supported them really, because I bought everything used.

They were shipped all the way from Japan and came super quickly. For used items, they were in almost immaculate condition. In fact, one of the CDs was still sealed in the plastic wrapping, meaning that I would be the first person to properly touch the disc and the case.

The drama CDs I picked were volumes one and two of the original series, featuring Ayato and Subaru. These were released about a year or two before the first DiaLovers otome game came out. So far I've only managed to listen to one of them, and I thought that it would be a nice idea to share my thoughts on them here, just in case anybody's interested. This blog is primarily an otome blog, but drama CDs are related to them so I might as well talk about them.

Since I've only listened to one of them so far, I'm just going to dump my thoughts on Ayato's CD and write about Subaru's at a later date.

More Thoughts On Okazaki's Route

If you're wondering why this screenshot is here, it's because I wanted to point out one of the many strange grammatical errors that are in Collar X Malice. There's nothing grammatically incorrect here, except the character is referring to the MC as Ichika, even though I changed her name to something else. This happened twice. Another common mistake is that sometimes the writers/translators got the character names all mixed up, causing a lot of confusion for me. I'm not going to let these errors detract from my enjoyment of the game though. I'm just pointing this out in case Aksys Games happen to be reading this, because they really need to hire some proofreaders, because a lot of their games have these problems.

Anyways, I'm now pretty far into Okazaki's route. There's probably going to be one more post on it after this one, then I will have finished dumping all of my thoughts on it to the world.

Also, if you want to listen to music whilst reading this, may I recommend Okazaki's character song? It's sounds quite bright and happy, it suits his character quite well.

And don't forget, there are lots of spoilers down below.
